DRIVER FATALLY INJURED — Jane A. Williams, 43, r 3 box 455, Syracuse, was the lone occupant in the 1979 Oldsmobile shown above. Syracuse woman loses life in early morning accident

Jane A. Williams, 43, r 3 box 455, Syracuse, was killed early Monday morning, Feb. 22, when she lost control of her vehicle and struck two trees. The accident occurred at approximately 1:01 a.m. on SR 13, near the entrance to South Shore Golf Club, at Brown Street. Mrs. Williams was pronounced dead at the scene from massive head and chest injuries by Kosciusko County Coroner Gary Eastlund. The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department reported Mrs. . Williams was heading towards CR 1000 N and apparently lost control of her vehicle when it hit a patch of ice on the highway. The car skidded for 189 feet, striking a

Chief Ziller was treated at the hospital and released. TRAVIS GREEN HAS SPINAL MENINGITIS Two year-old Travis Green, son of Lori Green, 900 B. Greenhaus, Syracuse, was admitted to Goshen Hospital, February 12, suffering from spinal meningitis. He was removed from isolation Wednesday, but is still not allowed to have visitors. Cards and gifts may be sent to Travis in care of the hospital, room 325. He is the grandson of Dick and Kathy VanDiepenbos, 724 Chicago St., Syracuse. STEVE TUCKER’S CONDITION IMPROVES Steve Tucker, 30, r 2, Milford, remains a patient in Kosciusko Community Hospital after being admitted to the hospital on Sunday evening, Feb. 21. He sustained a skull fracture and facial injuries after a truck he was driving went out of control on ice and hit a tree near Camp Mack. Tucker underwent surgery on Sunday evening for a severely broken nose and is undergoing further tests at this time. His family reports he is alert and seems to be showing much improvement. On April 2, 1976, she married John (“Reggie”) Williams. He survives. She was a homemaker. Wallace, Indianapolis, Ind. 46201, are the parents of a son, Nathan Josiah, bom Tuesday, Feb. 9, in St. Francis Hospital Center, Beech Grove. He weighed eight pounds, nine ounces and measured 22 inches long. Nathan Josiah is the couple’s first child.

Grover Layne Grover Layne, 60, 208 Hammontree St., Larwill, died Wednesday, Feb. 17,1988, at 7:30 p.m. in his home. He was the father of Roger Layne, Leesburg. Layne was bora in Tullahoma, Tenn., on October 15,- 1927, to Paris and Eileen Layne. On March 1,1947, he married Sara F. Sides. She preceded him in death on November 26,1959. He moved to Leesburg in November 1987 after residing for 13 years at the North Pole, Alaska. While living there he was self-employed in refrigeration maintenance business. He was also a former employee of the Pepsi-Cola Co. in Warsaw. He had recently moved to Larwill. Other survivors include his mother, Eileen Layne, Hixson, Tenn.; two additional sons, Richard Lane of Mentone, and Grover Layne, Jr., Larwill; four brothers, Paris Layne, Jr., Ohio, Francis Layne, Larwill, Benjamin and Keith Layne, Hixson, Tenn.; and two sisters. He was preceded in death by one son and one daughter. Services were held Saturday, Feb. 20, at 10:30 a.m. in Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery. Wanda R. Leeper Wanda R. Leeper, 63, Greenhaus Apartments, Syracuse, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 1988, in her home. Death was of an apparent heart attack. She had been employed as a film processor in California. Goshen Hospital will present a weight reduction clinic, “Weight No More,” beginning Wednesday, March 2, at 7 p.m. The clinic wiD meet for eight consecutive Wednesday evenings under the direction of Barbara Fierce, registered dietician at Goshen Hospital. She will cover strategies in weight reduction and developing healthier eating habits. The hospital’s Physical Therapy Department wUI present two sessions on the importance of physical exercise and conditioning. Stout Word has been received of the death of Alva (“Buck”) Valentine Stout, 95, 110 Wettaw Lane, North Palm Beach, Fla., 33408. He died January 17, 1988, in a hospital in North Palm Beach following a short illness. He was born in Kosciusko County on February 14, 1892. He was married to Ethel (Neff) Stout who preceded him in death. During the early 19205, Stout was principal of Milford schools. Surviving are one son, Dan Stout, North Palm Beach, and two grandchildren. Services were held Saturday, Feb. 20, in North Palm Beach. Esther Mae Gall Esther Mae Gall, 72,2806 Bruce Lane, Sebring, Fla., formerly of New Paris, died Saturday, Feb. 20,1988, at 11:45 a.m. in her Sebring home. January 24, 1934, she married Marlond Kirkdorffer. He preceded her in death on March 28,1977. On October 25,1985, she married Fred W. Gall. He survives. Mrs. Gall was a homemaker, member of Bethany Christian Church of the Brethren, Syracuse, and a volunteer for World Missionary Press, New Paris. Also surviving are one additional daughter, Mrs. Peggy Lockwood, New Paris; one additional son, Ronnie Kirkdorffer, Goshen; two stepdaughters, Irma Gall, Pineville, Ky., and Mrs. Wendell (Juva) Snavely, Ligonier; two stepsons, John E.
