This event replaces the former Milford Citizen of the Year Banquet. The recognition night was suggested to the board as away to honor volunteer groups for services to the community. Among those being considered are the EMS, ministerial association, volunteer firemen, Lions club, Kiwanis club, little league organization, library board, or others not listed who are volunteers. Unlike the citizen of the year, the group being honored will be announced prior to the night of the banquet. An individual within that organization may also be recognized, but not announced until that evening.
