more than one-half century ago. Stationed in the Nappanee area since 1946, the business got its start from Christner’s father, Orange Christner. He was active in distribution beginning in 1926, then moved the operation to its present location in 1964. “Many of our customers have been with us for as many as 30 years,” Christner added, revealing the bonds of faithful service to the community. day. With 11 employees servicing the area, Christner’s supplements have plants in Albion and Nappanee. Two sub-outlets remain in Argos and Walkerton. Some of the most modern equipment helps in providing northern Indiana Sunoco stations with the finest in products. “We have a unique blending system which gives five octane readings to a single pump,” said Christner. “The 93.5 octane fuel we provide is the highest rating available.” Christner also takes a more personal approach to his customers, lending promotions and contest offers in addition to offering a complete line of petroleum, automobile and industrial lubricants, batteries, tires, fan belts, and a variety of other accessories. Sunoco-promoted companies also offer outstanding coverage of most credit cards without a cost to the consumer, according to Christner. With five trucks, equipped with 2,000 gallon tanks, and two 8,400 gallon tankers,

Christner is always prepared to swiftly transport material from the refinery to Sunoco des lers. “Also, all of our trucks are radio dispatched, helping us to give better and quicker residential arid farm service,” said Christner. While other companies supersede Christner’s oil prices at times, the Nappanee company supplants those businesses with its commitment to quality products and service. “We won’t sacrifice quality for price and we sometimes lose business that way,” said Christner. “We wouldn’t want to sell anything that we wouldn’t want to buy ourselves ” A subscription to that philosophy has helped Cliristner triple his business since 1982. Thsre’s no telling how far the Nappanee-based oil company will go with that philosophy. Perhaps another one-half century of meeting the oil needs of customers in northern Ind ana.
