Miller's Heating and A/C offers 24-hour service
Barry Miller started his heating and air conditioning business in Syracuse in September, 1978. His wife, Judy, bookkeeper for the firm, said he hit the ground running and hasn’t slowed down since. “Our business continues to grow and Barry has been well received by area people,” she said. “Barry concentrates on the service side of the business and prides himself on being available when needed. He’s on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week, especially for heating calls.” The company installs and repairs Bryant heating and cooling equipment in houses and has Miller brand equipment for installation in mobile homes. Barry, who is beginning to lode for a qualified helper, does all phases of heating and air conditioning — gas, oil, hot water or electric. Originally from the Syracuse area, Barry worked two years in Columbia City for Redman Plumbing and Heating, driving from the Miller home in Syracuse. Good meals and reasonable prices at the Ivy Hut
Everyone enjoys a good meal, it doesn’t matter what time of the day. That’s?exactly what is offered at Syracuse’s Ivy Hut restaurant, located off SR 13. The only thing that makes eating at the Ivy Hut more enjoyable is the prices. Carl and Audrey Reinholt, owners of the restaurant, pride themselves in their food selections, the quality of food and -reasonable prices. “I would like to think that our food is good, people keep coming back,” said Audrey. “And, I think our prices are reasonable, people can get a good meal at a nice price.” The Ivy Hut, a family restaurant in nature, specializes in broasted chicken, which, according to the owners, is superior to anyone else’s broasted chicken. But, that’s just the beginning with the local restaurant. A wide selection of entree are available at each meal, breakfast through dinner. Highlighting the selections are four daily specials over the lunch hour. Usually, broasted chicken is one of the specials. The Ivy Hut opens each weekday at 5 a.m. for breakfast. Breakfast items are available until 11 a.m., at which time the Ivy Hut focuses on lunch. The luncheon menu, including the specials, are available all dav. There is a

Senior Minister Dale Kuhns joins with other ministers from the area in stating that visitors are always welcome. This busy church also operates a Christian School at its location on Henry and Fourth Streets in Milford.
Area served by over 48 churches
There are churches of many denominations for area residents and visitors to attend for Sunday and mid-week worship. The Lakeland church directory in The MailJournal each week has 48 churches listed with service times and pastors’ names. All of the Lakeland area churches welcome visitors to their Sunday services and to special services during the week. The mission of all is to spread the gospel to those who have no church home. years. It was there that Barry learned the heating and air conditioning business. In his spare time, Barry enjoys bowling and he and Judy are members of the Board of Governors of “Land 0’ Lakes” Young America Bowling Alliance (YABA). Os the couple’s four grown children, two are currently serving in the US Army, Gary in Germany and Andrew at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. The other two children reside closer to their parents, Robert in North Webster and Mar anne in Milford. Judy said Marianne’s two-year-old son son, Greg, is the apple of his grandpa’s eye. “He follows Barry around the shop every chance he gets,” said Judy. “He may be the one who will follow grandpa in the business.” For prompt and efficient heating and air conditioning needs, Miller’s Heating and Air Concitioning is the place to call. The business is located on the west side of SR 13 in Wawasee Village.
full salad bar after 4 p.m., and dinner selections The restaurant is open until 8 p.m. on weekdays and 7 p.m. on Sundays. Sunday’s opening is at 5:30. Besides the main course meals, the Ivy Hut offers a complete line of sandwiches, soft drinks, and a huge salad bar. The bar increases in size for the evening meal. Included in the 17-item evening salad bar are spaghetti salad, cole slaw, potato salad, chef salad options and Watergate salad, to name a few. The 74-seat restaurant allows visitors to eat their meals in luxury and freedom. The atmosphere, also, allows people to take the entire family out for a quality meal. For those desiring a quick meal, the Ivy Hut offers a carry-out program. Orders may be placed in advance or in person. Presently, the Ivy Hut has seven ’ waitresses and 18 employees on staff. The large number of waitresses allows the Ivy Hut to focus on each of the customers and treat them like gold. Employment nearly doubles during the summer months, but the service doesn’t falter a bit. For quality food at a very reasonable price the Ivy Hut is the place to go in Syracuse.
