Cotton and Cotton has it all
Although its sign reads Cotton and Cotton Insurance, Inc.., another name, Ron Beasley should be added to the list. Dave and Sally Cotton have recently brought in Ron as a partner of the firm. Opening shop only 4% years ago, in September of 1983, the Cottons received a warm response from the community. That response has continued to increase as has the business itself. Even with the dramatic increase, the Cottons have been able to remain at their original location on SR 13 in Syracuse. As need sees fit, the Cottons will more than likely find new lodging in the future. Dave, who has been in insurance 19 years, had previously worked in corporate positions with various companies. Most recently, he was the regional manager with the CNA Insurance company in New Jersey. Along with numerous other certifications, Dave is a CLU. Last year, the Cottons felt that business warranted an addition to the staff, which is when Ron joined the ranks. Experienced in the business, Ron was eager to unite his es-„ forts with Cotton and Cotton. He began his insurance career as a commercial underwriter, moving on to regional field representative and spent the last 10 years as vice president of a large insurance agency in Fort Wayne. As a team of three professionally licensed agents, the group offers what they term “total account selling.” By this, they are
Marise's is known for courteous assistance
“We have the personal touch and we’re there to help,” said Marise Smith, owner and manager of the store. “You can’t always get the assistance you need when shopping in the larger cities, and that’s something we feel is very important.” She went on to say, “Customers are left to browse as much as they want. And, we try to specialize in each customer’s uniqueness. ’ ’ Marise’s has been a big part of the retail community in Syracuse for over 29 years. The store is considered a “complete store” because it carries a full line of women’s apparel needs. “We carry slips, hose, dresses, casual and sports wear, bathing suits and undergarments,” said Marise. The store also carries a nice selection of jewelry and handbags — with perhaps the

hoping to provide individuals with all possible types of insurance needs, whether that involves personal business, life, disability, hospitalization, major medical, auto, renters, or any other form of insurance. Although the group works as a team on each account, each specializes in certain areas. Sally handles personal insurance, Ron deals primarily with commercial insurance, and Dave works with life, group disability, and pensions insurance. One of the many advantages Cotton and Cotton Insurance has over other companies is its quick claims service. It works with companies which it feels are quick and efficient. In dealing with these same companies, both the insurance company and claims agent become personally involved with the clients. There are even certain claims that can be paid directly out of office. Some of the companies Cotton and Cotton insures its clients through are Security Mutual, Hastings Mutual, Grange Mutual, Meridian Mutual, Financial Security Group, Bankers, Mutual Benefit, Indiana Insurance, American Community, Blue CrossBlue Shield, Trans America, Occidental Life and others. No matter how small or how large a persor’s insurance needs are Cotton and Cotton Insurance is there to lend a hand. It’s the agency with the small town touch in a big, big way.
most popular items coming from the Royal of Pittsburgh and the “1928” line of jewelry. “We also carry hand crafted jewelry from the Philippines which is also very unique. ’ ’ Marise’s also carries a selection of young girl’s clothes year around in sizes from 7-14, but in, “a small way.” Continuing she noted, “We get clientele from a distance away, many as far as Indianapolis. Among the brand name lines at Marise’s are Koret of Claifornia, Jantzen, Catalina, Hangten, Chic, Rose Marie Reid, Cole of California, Ship-N-Shore, Lady Arrow and Playtex. The store is located in Wawasee Village in Syracuse, and is open between 9:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. It’s also open on Sunday between noon and 5 p.m.
