Progress and change in Cromwell

For the 450 people who live in Cromwell, 1988 is a year of both progress and change. Progress can be seen by driving through the community and observing a new: day-care center, library, chlorination system, and water line; and three re-paved roads, a renovated park, an expanding industrial park, and a new town marshal. tend the day-care center, town board member Gene Martin said the whole town is behind the project, as there are no current day care services offered in Cromwell. Martin said a six-month license application has been sent to the state. According to Indiana law, the center must be run for a full year by the local organizers. If they meet that goal, the center will then qualify for state grants. The catch is that the day care center must be able to raise enough money to pay a half year of expenses before the license will be

Many donations have been given to the center, including $5,000 by the Cromwell Business Association. Once enough money has been raised and a permit has been granted, the center will be based in the 5 Cromwell Community Center. It officially opened in October, 1986, and offers a variety of services to the community.
