Six Thefts reported to Syracuse Police

The Syracuse Police Department received six theft reports this past week. The first one occurred sometime around 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 4, at Liberti’s Shoe Hospital, 207 Main St. Various items such as shoe polish were taken when the owner was distracted. Total amount of items taken was $27.30. On Friday, Feb. 5, Lawrence Thwaits, Syracuse, reported someone removed a 1982 black SkiDoo snowmobile, valued at months after the date of final completion and acceptance of the work provided under the contractor's contract. Should the contractor's bonding company default, the contractor will be responsible for securing a new bond within fourteen (14) calendar days. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any bid (or combination of bids) and to waive any Irregularities in bidding. In the event that a responsible bid Is not received for a specific category of work or If It is determined that the low bld received Is too high, the bld received for that category of work will be rejected and said category will be rebid. The Owner retains the right to assign any portion of the contract, wholly or In part, to the Owner's holding corporation. No bidder may withdraw his bld within sixty (60) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. $1,500, from bis yard. On the same day, David H. Stell, Syracuse, reported the theft of a black and yellow 1977 Ski-Doo snowmobile, valued at $1,200 and a black and yellow 1978 Ski-Doo snowmobile, valued at $1,500. They were on a black trailer which was valued at S6OO. Stell reported that a vehicle backed up to the trailer and hitched on to it and took off. Dennis Darr, Syracuse, reported that between midnight Saturday, Feb. 6, and early Sunday, Feb. 7, a toolbox was stolen from his front porch. According to Darr, the toolbox and tools were va'lued at between $6,000-$7,000.

A burglary took place between 10 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 7, and 6 a.m., Monday, Feb. 8, at Wawasee Service, r 3, Syracuse. Subjects entered the building by kicking out a panel in a back overhead door. Taken was approximately S4OO in cash. An attempted burglary occurred at Roach Construction, Syracuse, sometime between 4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 6, and 8 a.m., Monday, Feb. 8. Subjects broke a glass window with an unknown object to gain entry. Damage to the window was $l5O. It appears at this time that nothing was taken. All incidents are still under investigation. *
