Susie E. Reed Mrs. Susie E. Reed, 91, r 1, Warsaw, died in Prairie View Rest Home, Inc. at 9 a.m. Wednesday, 'fan. 20,1988. She was bdgh on April 16, 1896, in Wabash County, the daughter of Frank and Alice (Cox) Gaines. On September 26, 1913, she married Thomas Reed. He preceded her in death in 1972. Mrs. Reed moved to Kosciusko County from Fort Wayne in 1950 and had formerly resided at Barbee Lake. She was a member of the North Webster United Methodist Church and was a 25-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Leesburg. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Pauline Sinke, Stuart, Fla., and Mrs. Dorothy Goshert, Warsaw; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, in Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Rev. 0. Rex Lindemood, pastor of the North Webster United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery in Fort Wayne. Vera J. Rosenogle Mrs. Vera J. Rosenogle, 62, r 3, Ligonier, died Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1988, at 10:15 p.m. in Goshen Hospital following an extended illness. She was born in Fort Wayne on September 26,1925. On December 6, 1945, she married Forrest O. Rosenogle in LaGrange. He survives. s In 1937, she moved to the Ligonier area from Fort Wayne and was employed with Cromwell Products.

On December 26, 1939, she married Homer D. Stroud. He preceded her in death on January 30,1987. A lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, she was a homemaker, member of the Chapman Lake Ladies Auxiliary, Leesburg American Legion Auxiliary, and the Chapman Lake Conservation Club. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Bob (Sharon) Sanders, Warsaw; her mother, Mrs. Audrey Case, Chapman Lake; one sister, Mrs. Gerri Sarber, Kendallville; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. MILFORD MAN HAS BACK SURGERY Norman Vanlaningham, r 2 box 178, Milford, underwent back surgery for the removal of a disc on Monday, Jan. 18, in Goshen Hospital. He was released to his home on Friday, Jan. 22, where he is showing steady improvement. CONNIE BEER BACK IN THE HOSPITAL Mrs. Steven (Connie) Beer, r 1 box 23, Milford, was re-admitted to Goshen Hospital on Friday, Jan. 22, after developing a blood clot in her lung, following surgery two weeks ago. Mrs. Beer is experiencing severe chest pains and distress and is being given oxygen at the present time. She is in Room 206 and would be appreciate receiving cards. Box 884, Cromwell, was taken to Goshen Hospital after he came to the station at 12:06 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22. The EMS was called to a location at Pickwick Park at 12:17 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23. Brian Brown, 12, 72811 CR 137, Syracuse, and Eugene Brown, 72, CR 35, Syracuse, were not transported to a hospital. The EMS was called to Wawasee High School at 4:28 p.m. Saturday. Clarence H. Mick Clarence H. Mick, 79, died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1988, at his home, 511 E. Charlotte Ave., Sumter, SC. Born in Syracuse he was the son of James Daniel and Sophrona (Strieby) Mick. Mick was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Scottish Rite in Columbia, and Amity Lodge No. 483 F&AM in Huntington. He was employed by Williams Furniture Corp, and retired from Georgia-Pacific Corp. Survivors include his wife, Maxine Daniels Mick; one daughter, Pat Robinson, Bluffton, Ohio; one brother, Ralph Mick, Silver Spring, Md.; two sisters, Phyllis Wood, Silver Spring, Md., and Mabel Kitson, Syracuse: three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. One brother, Fred Mick, preceded him in death. Graveside services were held Saturday, Jan. 16, in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Phil Jones and Rev. Sterne Bolte officiating. She was born in Milford on November 25, 1895, the daughter of William and Chloe (Dewart) Cox. On March 31,1917, she married Floyd Fuller in Warsaw. He preceded her in death on August 11,1981. Mrs. Fuller was a member of the Milford Christian Church and she and her husband had been coowners of the former Fuller General Store in Milford. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Virginia) Bushong, Kokomo; one grandchild; Mrs. W. David (Jean) Leyta, Kokomo; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Eleanor Tom, Milford. three years. Death was from leukemia. The daughter of William and Eleanor Giannakeff, she was bom on June 28, 1950, in Fort Wayne. On September 28, 1980, she married Richard Ford. He survives. Mrs. Ford attended Ball State University and St. Francis College. In 1974, she was a member of the Ball State University Singers and was named Miss Fort Wayne and Miss Indiana, competing as Miss Indiana that year in the Miss USA contest. A member of Saint Nicholas Orthodox Church in Fort Wayne, she had lived for 14 years in the Syracuse area and was a substitute school teacher. Surviving with her husband are her parents, William and Eleanor Giannakeff, Fort Wayne; one brother, Leon Giannakeff, Fort Wayne; and one sister, Jeanette Thompson, New Hampshire. Services were held Sunday, Jan. 24, in Mungovan and Sons Funeral Home, Fort Wayne, with Father Nedelkoff officiating. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Society. Also a memorial scholarship fund in her name has been established and donations will be accepted at Wawasee High School, Syracuse Junior High, and any branch of State Bank of Syracuse. Edgar Newcomer Edgar R. Newcomer, 83, 1313 Northwood Dr., Nappanee, died Sunday, Jan. 24, 1988, at 11:15 a.m. in Elkhart Hospital. He had been a patient for six days. Gary Clark And Family Leesburg driver injured when car strikes mailboxes Marlena Harmon, 19, r 2 box 76, Leesburg, was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital and transferred to Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, following an accident Saturday, Jan. 23, at 5:45 p.m. She suffered contusions and bruises to the head. The accident occurred on the SyracuseMilford Road at Pinecrest Court. Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department report the Leesburg driver was westbound on the Syracuse-Milford Road when her 1978 Chevrolet Monza slid on the ice and snow. The car left the north side of the road went through a yard, struck the top of a well and mailboxes. Her vehicle then went across the drive and hit a parked 1980 Cadillac.

Newcomer, Milford; one stepdaughter, Jennie Heckaman, Milford; four stepsons, Dallas and Brent Gall, both of Nappanee, Richard Gall, Elkhart, and Theodore Gall, Jr., Warsaw; five grandchildren; nine stepgrandchildren; 11 greatgrandchildren; eight stepgreatgrandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Delbert (Bertha) Moneyheffer, Milford; and three brothers, Maurice Newcomer and Ralph Newcomer, both of Nappanee, and Howard Newcomer, Mishawaka. One son and one brother preceded him in death. Services were held this morning, Wednesday, at 11 a.m. in Brethren in Christ Church, SR 19N, Nappanee, with Rev. Rick Mailloux officiating. Christina i Foland Mrs. Wilma Christina Foland, 69, 183 Princess Ave., Nokomis, Fla., died Thursday, Jan. 21, 1988, in Venice Hospital, Venice, Fla., following a brief illness. She formerly resided in the Tippecanoe area. She was born on April 6,1918, in Cicero, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Brade Branham. She was married to Francis K. Foland. Mrs. Foland retired in the last 1960 s from the Guide Lamp Division of General Motors, Anderson, where she had worked for 15 years. She was a member of the North Webster United Methodist Church. From 1952-76 she had resided in Anderson and then moved to the Tippecanoe area. She had resided in Florida for the past several years. Surviving are one daughter, Kathy MaHoney, Anderson; two

Davis was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital by the Syracuse Emergency Medical Service. According to Indiana State Police, Davis was east bound on Bowser Road and had swerved to miss hitting a dog. He then lost control of the car on the icy roads and hit a tree. Further details of the accident are not available. Indiana State Police Trooper Leonard Massenburg investigated the accident. She was a hpmemaker and member of the Jolly Good Neighbors Home Ec Club. She survives. A Syracuse area resident most of his life he retired from Cam-' bridge Homes at Syracuse where he was superintendent. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of North Webster American Legion. Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter, Mrs. Joe (Larrena) Duarte, Phoenix, Ariz.; two sons, Larry Laird, Phoenix, and Roger Laird, Warsaw; six grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; one stepgreatgrandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Frances Shirey, North Webster, and Mrs. Nancy Baker, Syracuse; and one. brother, Joe Laird, Anaheim, Calif.
