As of Monday, Dec. 26, Donna Conder, r 1 Kale Island, Syracuse, has taken over the ownership of Rose Garden Beauty Salon, located in Pickwick, uptown Syracuse. Word has it that the Syracuse Town Board is looking for a town hall and has expressed interest in the old Syracuse Rubber Plant, located just down the street from the present town hall. The Meyer Maidenbergs, of r 2 Syracuse, have gone to Las Vegas for the week. They plan to be back in Syracuse this Saturday. Susie and Jake Kern, operators of Wawasee Bowl, have just returned from a four-day snowmobile excursion with four other Syracuse couples to Cadillac, Mich. Accompanying the Kerns were John and Mary Campbell, Bud and Edie Kline, Scrappy and Ellie Graff and Joe and Jan Morganthaler. Susie Kern said the group loaded all their snowmobiles on ,a huge trailer. Mrs. Melville Smith and Miss Irene Abts have returned to their homes at Syracuse after spending the Christmas holidays at Sarasota, Fla., with Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Anderson. Mrs. S. F. Betes and Mrs. Ray Wogoman of Lake Wawasee spent Wednesday with Mrs. Estella Swartz at Syracuse. . Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Brower, Syracuse, will leave Thursday morning for Oklawaha, Fla., to spend the remainder of the Winter. Mr. and Mrs. Wymond Luttman and children of Syracuse returned home Tuesday night from a vacation to Florida over the holidays. The stairway leading to the basement, now located in the center of the store room, is being moved to the rear; the stairway leading to the second floor is being removed entirely. These two changes were necessary to allow the moving of the partition back some 25 feet, thus adding that number of feet to the store proper. Manager E. C. Young advises the Journal these changes are being made so as to allow the enlargement of present lines and addition of new ones, which ever increasing business demands.
