Travel ban lifted TAIPEI, Taiwan — The governing Nationalist Party removed another barrier between Taiwan and Communist China with the announcement that Taiwanese will be allowed to visit relatives on the mainland. A party statement said the 38-year ban on travel to China will be lifted for humanitarian reasons.
