COACHES’ CHOICE — Mike Yoder and Jodi Brumbaugh were both recently named recipients of Coaches' Awards in their respective sports at Syracuse Junior High School. The award is given annually to the top male and female athlete in fall sports. Yoder played quarterback and linebacker for the Yellowjackets seventh and eighth grade football team, while Brumbaugh played on the seventh and eighth grade volleyball team.

The group was led by Emily Webster as it sang “This Old Man" and "The4-H Song.” Devotions were given by Lisa Webster on “New Beginnings.” Recreation called follow the leader was led by Tricia Wuthrich and Demonstrations were given by Renee, Rita and Rachel Beer. The meeting was then adjourned and lunch was served.

Another thing we're planning on doing is making cookies for the fire station. We would be making them for a service project.

competing against each other. Over $24,000 has been raised in past Wawasee High School Penny Pitch drives for area needy families. Last year, the drive benefited 98 people in 21 families. Community suggestions are greatly appreciated. If anyone is aware of individuals or families needing any kind of assistance (food, medical, clothing, utilities, etc.), please notify the main office of the high school ’yInformation needed includes the name of the person or family, address, directions on how to get to the home, number of people in the family, dietary restrictions (if any) and type of assistance needed.
