Richard, Director A.265.2 REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS The Town of Etna Green, haying made a determination that it is appropriate to lease a certain section of the real estate owned by the Town and commonly known as the Water Tower Property, hereby solicits and re quests proposals for the development of the land. The factors which will be used in evaluating the proposals to be submitted are the willingness of the lessee to use the property for the provision of cable television service to the residents of the Town of Etna Green, the willingness of the lessee to pro vide insurance coverage to indemnify the Town against any loss or harm due to the use of the land for that purpose, and the will ingness of the lessee to develop the property in such away as to avoid interference with any other Town property or utility opera tions. The price to be obtained by the Town for the lease of the real estate is less impor tant than those factors identified above Some evidence of financial responsibility should be provided to the Town. The wooded area to the top left is jOakwood Park and in the lower right are the remains of the Syracuse-Milford Railroad. The almost obscure road bed came in from the west and curved left (north). The railroad was used to haul mari from w'aubee Lake at J.lilford to the Syracuse cement plant.
Minor injuries as cars collide
Two accidents were reported to Syracuse Police Friday, Aug. 28, and Monday, Aug. 31. with one of the incidents resulting in minor injuries. Brian Baker, 12, Syracuse, suffered abrasions to his legs in the Friday incident, after he collided with a 1986 Chevrolet Caprice, while riding his bicycle near Parkway Street at 7:45 a m Baker was traveling west on the Carroll Street sidewalk when he ran into the side of an automobile driven by Brenda S. Stamper, 35, Syracuse, which was stopped at the Parkway Street intersection. Police to enforce moped helmet law The Syracuse Police Department will begin enforcing the new Indiana Moped Helmet Law beginning today, Sept. 2. The law requires that anyone 18 or younger must wear a helmet with - protective glasses, goggles, or a face shield. The driver of the moped must be at least 15 years old and must have a moped permit or driver’s license. Mopeds are not allowed on highways or sidewalks. Chief Robert Ziller stated that Syracuse officers may give drivers a warning the first time; . however, if they are seen violating the law a second time their mopeds will be towed and they will be ticketed. Ziller is asking parents of children riding mopeds to encourage their children to wear helmets for their own protection. Up to S2OO damage was caused to the Stamper vehicle, while the * Schwinn 10-speed bicycle Baker J was riding escaped damages. Driver inattention contributed c to an off-road accident on SR 13, ' 3,156 feet south of Bay Vista Drive at 7:50 p.m. Monday, Aug. ' 31. Kathryn Beezley, 59, was traveling south on SR 13 in a 1982 Oldsmobile Cutlass, when she lost control of her vehicle Beezley told officers she was attempting to put on her safety belt when the vehicle left the west side of the roadway and collided with a utility pole. The pole, owned by United Telephone Co., Warsaw, suffered SI,OOO in damages, while up to $2,500 in damages were caused to the Beezley vehicle. No injuries were reported. Serving our country ROBERT A.
