Sharon Bohnstedt becomes Aug. 1 bride of Benjamin Reed
Sharon K. Bohnstedt, Milford, became the bride of Benjamin Reed, Syracuse, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1, in the North Webster Church of God. Rev. James Davey, pastor of the church, performed the doublering ceremony in the presence of 170 guests. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Richard (Carolyn) Bohnstedt, Milford, and Mr. and Mrs. Edward (Sharon) Leamon, Syracuse. The church’s altar was decorated on each side with arrangements of pink and white gladiolas and carnations and wad flanked with two candelabra accented with pink bows. A unity candle within a centerpiece of pink carnations and gladiolas was placed on the altar, and the church pews were enhanced with pink bows. William Dixon, Syracuse, was the pianist. Soloist was Tony Avellana, West Lafayette. Special selections chosen for the ceremony included “You and I,” “Through the Eyes of Love,” “The Wedding Song,” “Sunrise, Sunset” and “Nothing’s Gonna Change My Love for You.” The bride chose a long white satin gown which revealed a high-shadowed neckline, fitted bodice and long sleeves with a separate puff with suspended pearls. The full skirt was adorned with schiffli embroidery cutouts and extended into a cathedrallength train. Her headpiece was covered in lace and seed pearls with an attached fingertip illusion veil. The bride carried a cascade of pink roses, white mini carnations and stephanotis. Becky Bohnstedt, Milford, sister-in-law of the bride, was the matron of honor. The bride’s attendants were Debra Adkins, Milford, sister of the bride, Melissa Baumgartner, Sarasota, Fla., and Christie Leamon, Syracuse, sister of the groom. They wore gowns of pink rose > patterned fantanza which featured a sweetheart neckline bordered by ruffles and floorsweep train with ruffles. Their headdresses were wreaths of pink roses and baby’s breath, and they carried lace fans accented (with pink roses and white carnations. i Tiffany Bohnstedt, Milford, niece of the bride, was the flower girl. Jason Cripe, Middlebury, cousin of the groom, served as the ring bearer.
Meals for older Americans
J Meals for Older Americans are served each day at the following locations: The Scout Cabin, Syracuse; the Pierceton Community Building; Mentone Community Room in the fire station; the Retired Tigers Center, 320 W. Main, Warsaw; and Packerton Community Building. Meals for Older Americans is for persons 60 years or older and is a chance to meet new friends and enjoy hot, nutritional meals. The sites are opened several hours each day including noon for programs. Her fiance is the son of Hugh D. Fiandt, Lake Tippecanoe, and the late Jacqueline Fiandt. He is a 1984 graduate of High School and holds a degree from Lincoln Technical Institute in Indianapolis. The best man was Todd Leamon, Syracuse, brother of the groom. The groomsmen were Andrew Wysong, Syracuse, and Daniel Bohnstedt and Jeffrey Bohnstedt, both of Milford and brothers of the bride. Serving as ushers were Andrew Cripe, Middlebury, cousin of the groom, and Todd Smith, Milford. The bride’s mother chose an ivory taffeta dress accented with layers of lace. The groom’s mother wore a pink satin dress which featured a white lace top. Both mothers wore corsages of pink sweetheart roses and white mini carnations. Immediately following the ceremony, a light buffet reception was held in the fellowship hall of the church. The hall was decorated in colors of pink and grey. He is majoring in electrical engineering technology and is a member of the Association of Electrical Technologists and Eta Sigma Phi Honor Fraternity. (Evelyn) Woods, Wolcottville, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary at an open house on August 29 from 2-5 p.m. at Nappanee Missionary Church. Rev. and Mrs. Woods were married on August 28,1937, in Toledo, Ohio. Prof. B.F. Leightner, Ft. Wayne Bible College, officiated at the service. Rev. Woods has pastored many churches in northern Indiana and Southern Michigan. He to the former president of the Council for Aging in LaGrange, and the former president of the Ministerial Association. He is currently an assistant pastor at Pleasant Hill Missionary Church, Bronson, Mich. Rev. Woods has written many poems and he enjoys singing. The couple’s five children will be hosting the open house. They are: Mrs. Paul (Lois) Wise, New Paris; Mrs. Norman (Eunice) Hunsberger, Milford; Mrs. David (Ruth) Smith, Coldwater, Mich.; Dr. James Woods, Elm Grove, Wis.; and Paul Woods, Elgin, 111. The couple has 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Alissa Dyer, Brian Roberts exchange wedding vows June 20
Alissa Denee Dyer and Brian Kent Roberts were united in marriage at a candlelight ceremony, Saturday, June 20, at 6:30 p.m., in the Maplewood Christian Church, Terre Haute. Officiating at the ceremony were Pastors Herbert Woollard, Clay City Church of Christ; John Hofer, St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Millersburg; and Richard Jorgensen, Maplewood Christian Church. The bride is the daughter of Willis and Darenda Dyer, Clay City. The bridegroom is the son of Ron and Phyllis Roberts, Syracuse. Large, candelabrums with peach candles, and ivy with baskets of peach roses, gerbera daisies, stephanotis, and ivy decorated the altar, along with large peach satin bows. A peach unity candle was in the center of the altar. The pews were decorated with antique brass candle holders and cascades of peach roses, daisies’s pearls, ivy and peach satin bows. Bill Cain, Terre Haute, was the organist. Doug Everett, Lebanon, and Jenny Wesner, Fort Wayne, provided the musical selections including “Nobody Loves Me Like You Do,” “Always,” “Doubly Good To You,” “Surely The Presence Os the Lord Is In This Place.” The bride wore a gown of white crystal organza. The stand-up neckline, Elizabethan sleeves, bodice, neckline and skirt were accented with pearls and sequins. The full skirt ended in layers of ruffles and extended into a cathedral-length train. Her headdress featured a train style crown adorned with pearls and sequins. The finger-tip veil was accented with pearls and sequins. She carried a cascade of peach roses, gerbera daisies, stephanotis, ivy and pearls. Christina Staley, Fort Wayne, was maid of honor and Lisa Hershberger, Warsaw, the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Lisa Cole, Indianapolis; Amanda Dyer, Clay City, sister of the bride; and Jenny Long, Clay City, cousin of the bride. They wore long gowns of peach moire taffeta with a boat neckline and pouff sleeves. Their bouquets were cascades of peach flowers and ivy. Pearl strands were worn in their hair. Ushers were Jonathan Maloyed, Spiceland, and Kent Morris, Indianapolis. The bridegroom wore a black cut away tuxedo with tails. His boutonniere was a peach rose and baby’s breath. The bridegroom’s attendants wore black tuxedos. Melissa Scott, West Lafayette, was the guest book attendant and Brad Long, Clay City, and Wende Roberts, North Webster, and cousin of the bridegroom; were in charge of the gifts. Handing out the programs were John Michael Downey, West Lafayette, Marc Roberts and Matthew Roberts Syracuse, cousins of the bridegroom.
A buffet dinner reception in the Hulman Center, Terre Haute, . was given following the ceremony. The bridal tables were decorated with peach moire taffeta table skirts. There were candelabrums with peach candles on the table along with centerpieces of peach roses, daisies, stephanotis. Tables for the guests were decorated with identical candle and flower centerpieces. Following a wedding trip to Nassau, the couple is now residing at 430-4 Cedar Glen Drive, Fort Wayne. The bride is a graduate of Clay City High School and Purdue University. She will be teaching at Columbia City High School. The bridegroom is a graduate of Wawasee High School and Purdue University. He is a business manager at U.S. Traveler, Inc., Goshen.
