Edwin 0. Troyer Edwin 0. Troyer, 83, Lake Street, Topeka, died Wednesday morning, Aug. 19, 1987, in his home. Death was due to an apparent heart attack. Mr. Troyer was the brother of Crist Troyer, Syracuse. A lifetime resident of LaGrange and Noble Counties, he was bom February 19, 1904. On January 26,1929, he was married to Mildred Emerson, who died in 1982. A member of the Maple Grove Mennonite Church, Topeka, he retired in 1983 as a carpenter with Troyer Construction. His other survivors include two sons, Lloyd Troyer, Ligonier, and Harold Troyer, LaGrange; one daughter, Betty Mclntire, Elkhart; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; a brother, Art Troyer, Topeka; and four sisters, Nora Bender and Irma Troyer, both of Goshen, Ruby Leichty, Leo, and Elsie Bircky, Kouts. Funeral services for Mr. Troyer were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, in the Maple Gjove Mennonite Church, Topeka, with Rev. Gene Troyer officiating. Burial was in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Orthopedic Department at Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne. Charles Reagan Charles A. (“Stubby”) Reagan, 52, r 1, North Webster, died at 7:35 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, 1987, in the emergency room at the Kosciusko Community Hospital of an apparent heart attack. Born March 5, 1935, in Lebanon, he was the son of Oscar and Ethel Reagan. On May 20, 1967, he was married to Irene Marvin. She survives. He moved from Lebanon to the North Webster area 18 years ago and was a musician with a dance band. An Air Force veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of the Moose Lodge, Warsaw. Kuilema, 75, r 4, Syracuse, died at 4:22 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, 1987, in the Kosciusko Community Hospital. He had received internal injuries in an automobile accident which occurred Friday, Aug. 14. Born April 7, 1912, in Kalamazoo, Mich., he was the son of Fester Louis and Matilda (Moyer) Kuilema. On June 19, 1937, he was married to Jacqueline LaPari. She survives. A former salesman for a laboratory equipment company, he had moved from Indianapolis to the Syracuse area in 1965 and had owned and operated the Fish & Fun Resort, Syracuse, until his retirement in 1976. Mr. Kuilema served as Turkey Creek Township Trustee for four years and was a member of the Syracuse Masonic Lodge. Custer had passed out three times and was immediately given oxygen upon the arrival of the EMTs. He has been undergoing tests, and it has been determined he did not suffer a heart attack. He will remain in the hospital at least a

Beer Frank J. Beer, 81, r 1 box 36, Milford, died at 1:45 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 23, 1987. in Goshen Hospital, following an extended illness. Born September 18, 1905, in Mansfield, Ohio, he was the son of Joel and Josephine (Gottas) Beer. On February 14, 1936, he was married to Ruth Graff. She survives. A resident of Indiana nearly all his life, Mr. Beer was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church, Milford, and was a retired farmer. Survivors in addition to his wife include three daughters, Mrs. John (Carol) Hurd and Mrs. Steven (Sandra) Frantz, both of Milford, and Mrs. Warren (Emily) Fisher, Jr., Nappanee; one son, Dale Beer, Elkhart; 11 grandchildren; one greatgranddaughter; a twin sister, Francelia Beer, Mansfield, Ohio; another sister, Hermine Beer, Mansfield; and four brothers, Robert Beer, Edwin Beer, Ben Beer and David Beer, all of Mansfield. One sister, Alma Beer, preceded him in death. Funeral services for Mr. Beer were held at 10:30 a.m. this morning, Wednesday, Aug. 26, in the Apostolic Christian Church, Milford, with the ministers of the church officiating. Pfeiffer, 58, 16 Camelot Drive, Milford, died in his home at 10:15 a m. Thursday, Aug. 20, 1987, following a twoyear illness. Pfeiffer was the owner/operator of the Wakarusa Feed Center from 1963 to 1983 and was a truck driver for Triangle Pacific from 1985 to 1986. He attended the Wakarusa Missionary Church. Grush A summer resident of Oakwood Park, Syracuse, for many years, Mrs. Phillip (Marilyn) Grush, 56, 109 Wallace Avenue, Crawfordsville, died at 8 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, 1987, in St. Vincent’s Hospital, Indianapolis, following a brief illness. Born July 10,1931, in Crawfordsville, she was the daughter of Robert and Edna Harding. On July 12, 1953, she married Dr. Phillip E. Grush, a former Goshen resident. He survives. A member of the Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church, Crawfordsville, Mrs. Grush was a member and past president of the Crawfordsville Art League, Tri Kappa Sorority, Phi Mu Sorority, the Auxiliary of the American and Indiana Optometric Associations and served on the board of Youth Services Bureau in Crawfordsville. to r jipfl AUTO PULLED FROM CENTER LAKE — This Lincoln Town Car was pulled from Center Lake at the boat loading ramp on North Buffalo St. in Warsaw at about 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25. The body of Helen L. Creighton, 72, of 1155 SR 25, Warsaw, was inside the vehicle, which had been submerged, according to Deputy Coroner John Sadler, for six or seven hours before it was discovered at about 6:30 a.m. Mrs. Creighton was the wife of Russell Creighton, who was co-founder of Creighton Brothers, large county farm and egg producing business. Authorities believe the death by drowning was a suicide because a handwritten note was found. (Photo by Glen Long)
