Annette Bushong and Tony Weisser exchange marriage vows on June 27
Annette Bushong and Tony Weisser, both of Syracuse, were married on June 27 at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church, Syracuse, by Rev. Lewis Hathaway. The double ring ceremony that began §£2 :3o p.m. was witnessed by 275 guests. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jon Bushong, Syracuse. The groom is the son of Larry Weisser, Milford, and Phyllis Blauser, Milford. The altar of the church was decorated with fresh flowers of pink and white gladioli, pink and white carnations, fugi, mums and baby's breath. The unity candle arrangement included a white wicker basket filled with silk pink roses, aqua mini-carnations, iridescent leaves, ivy, baby’s breath and ribbon and four brass candlesticks with pink candles. Candelabra of pink candles accented with ferns and pink satin bows along with two pink dogwood trees accented with pink Italian lights graced the front of the church. The guests’ pews were marked with pink satin bows; the parents’, pink and aqua satin bows. The church foyer contained two beauty baskets with ferns, palm trees and large pink satin bows. Guests were escorted through a bridal arch to be seated. It was covered with pink and aqua satin bows, pink Italian lights, springeri, ivy and baby’s breath. The organist was Suzanne Lisor, Syracuse. Karla Knafel, Leesburg, sang “Perfect Love,” and “Nobody Loves Me Like You Do,” and “To Me,” as a duet with Rick Mitchell, Rochester. The bride wore a gown of white organza. The fitted bodice featured a sweetheart neckline with ruffled pouff sleeves accented with sequins. Schiffli lace, embroidery, pearls and sequins adorned the 'bodice front and back. The full skirt ended in layers of ruffles and extended into a cathedral-length train. Her headdress featured a tiara-style crown adorned with pearls and sequins. The fingertip-length veil of Alencon lace was covered with mini-pearls and sequins. The bride carried a cascading French Colonial bouquet of silk pink roses, aqua mini-carnations, ivy baby’s breath, pink iridescent leaves, lace and ribbon. Bethanie Walker, Syracuse, served as the maid of honor. The bridesmaids were: Tanya Brown, New Paris, sister of the bride; Jody Gose, Cromwell, sister of the bride; Kim Weisser, Syracuse, sister-in-law of the groom; and Althea Minnix, Ft. Wayne. Heather Brown, New Paris, niece of the bride, was the flower girl. The maid of honor wore a gown of aqua satin and lace. The sweetheart neckline and pouff sleeves were adorned with matching Chantilly lace which was also used for a peplum at the waist. The back of the floorlength skirt featured an open hemline pleat. The other attendants’ gowns were pink satin and lace, identical in style to the maid of honor’s. All attendants-wore hair combs of pearls and rhinestones. They carried pearlized French Colonial bouquets of silk pink minicarnations, aqua roses, aqua iridescent leaves, baby’s breath, ivy and aqua ribbon. The flower girl carried a lace basket of pink and aqua petals, She sprinkled fresh rose petals as she walked down the aisle. Tim Haviland, Syracuse, served as the best man. The groomsmen were: Terry Weisser, Syracuse, brother of the groom; Tim Weisser, Syracuse. ! <T V ■ V PLAN TO MARRY — Annette Rene Rhoades, Goshen, and Antonio Ray Gonzales, New Paris, are planning their marriage for Sept. 12 at the First Church of God, Goshen. ’ The bride-elect is the daughter of Larry J. Rhoades, New Paris, and Teri M. Yoder, Goshen. She >s a 1986 graduate of Goshen High School, and is employed by Shasta Industries, Goshen. Her fiance is the son of Cecil D. Gonzales, New Paris, and Rosemary Gonzales, Goshen. He is a 1985 graduate of Goshen High School, and is employed by Universal Cooperatives, Goshen.

brother of the groom; Greg Blhuser, Milford, brother of the groom; and Mike Garver, Elkhart. Casey Gose, Cromwell, nephew of the bride, was the ring bearer. Ushers were: Jeff Gose, Cromwell, brother-in-law of the bride; and Scott Weisser, Milford, brother of the groom. The groom wore a black tuxedo. The best man wore a silver tuxedo with a pink cummerbund; the groomsmen, silver tuxedos with aqua cummerbunds. The bride’s mother wore a pink tea-length dress of satin and lace with a scalloped hemline; the groom’s mother, an ivory tealength dress of Georgette with a pleated overbodice and lace trim. Both mothers wore corsages of pink sweetheart roses accented with aqua iridescent leaves, baby’s breath and ribbon. The bride and groom each presented a pink long-stemmed rose to her/his “new” mother at the end of the wedding service. Following the marriage ceremony, a buffet dinner was held at the American Legion in Syracuse, catered by Lois Murray and assisted by Marilyn Grindle, Syracuse. “Sound Barrier,” a DJ from Kendallville, provided the music. Mr. and Mrs. Reggie Coy, Winona Lake, and Mr. and Mrs. Alan Coy, Milford, aunts and uncles of the bride, served ashosts and hostesses. The bridal table was decorated with table candelabra and floral centerpieces on a pink tablecloth.
Meals for older Americans
Meals for Older Americans are served each day at the following locations: The Scout Cabin, Syracuse; the Pierceton Community Building; Mentone Community Room in the fire station; the Retired Tigers Center, 320 W. Main, Warsaw; and Packerton Community Building. Meals for Older Americans is for persons 60 years or older and is a chance to meet new friends and enjoy hot, nutritional meals. The sites are opened several hours each day including noon for programs. Meals for Older Americans is not associated with welfare but is for the promotion for better health for the older population. Donations are accepted for the meals. The site directors request all persons planning on attending the meals to make reservations by 1 p.m. the day prior to attending. Guest tables had pink helium balloons that were anchored with baskets of candy. Aqua streamers, candelabra, and balloons were found throughout the hall The wedding cake, made by Dons Wail, Milford, had nine tiers with two sets of stairsteps and a fountain. It featured “Precious Moments” figurines, with the bride and groom at the top of the cake and flower girl and ring bearer at the bottom of the steps where two heart-shaped cakes met. Each heart had a name written on it — the bride and groom's. Pink silk roses arid baby’s breath surrounded the cake. Servers at the reception included three aunts of the bride — Sherrie Ochs, Milford; Gayle Coy, Winona Lake; and Cheryl Coy, Milford; and two cousins of the bride — Tammy Kaufman, Milford; and Angie Kaufman, Leesburg. Angie Nine, Ft. Wayne, was in charge of the guest book. The bride is a 1983 graduate of Wawasee High School and she attended St. Francis College, Ft. Wayne. She is employed as a receptionist and office service clerk at The Commodore Corporation, Goshen. The groom is a 1981 graduate of Wawasee High School. He is employed by Holiday Rambler, Utilimaster Division. Following a wedding trip to Honolulu, Hawaii, the couple is living at r 3, Papakeeche Lake, Syracuse.

She is Ted Baumgartner presents program for Leesburg Lions The regular meeting of the Leesburg Lions Club was held in the Leesburg Community Building at 7 p.m. on August 13. The meeting was opened in regular form with the singing of “America,” the pledge to the flag and invocation. The reports on the chicken barbecue and the milk shake stands at the Kosciusko County Fair indicated a profit on both. District Governor Glenn Yoder was present to make his official visit. He reported on the state projects and his trip to Taiwan to the International Convention. The program was given by Ted Baumgartner of Milford. He told about the discovery of oil and the drilling of the first well. Other guests included Stan Tennant and Richard Franco. Skipper relieved of duty The skipper of the USS Stark and two of his top officers were relieved of duty and Pentagon sources said an investigative report had recommended courtsmartial for all three.

Her fiance is a graduate of Castle High School and received a BS in marketing from the University of Evansville. The couple is planning to be married at 2 p.m. on October 3 in the Bible Center Cathedral, Evansville. BPW sees video on sesquicentennial Events of the Syracuse Sesquicentennial were viewed by members of the Syracuse Business and Professional Women’s Club on video tape during a program presented by Judy Moser at their August 11 meeting. The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance and the club collect. Carol Smith, vice president, presided over the meeting in the absence of the president, Bessie Stetler. Kay Gibson was a guest of the club. She is a registered nurse at Kenney Nursing Home. Door prizes were awarded to Evelyn Marlin, Denise Leismer and Ann Schrock. Penny Sue Heppner and Patrick Oland McGinnis were united in marriage at a (Rublering ceremony on Saturday, Aug. 1, at 1 p.m'., in Lakeside Park, Syracuse. » The bride is the daughter of Donald and Rosemary Heppner, Syracuse, formerly of Bay City, Mich., and*the bridegroom is the son of Elender McGinnis and the late Thomas Oland McGinnis, Syracuse. The bride wore a floor-length gown of dotted swiss. A blue satin ribbon accented the front of the gown which featured long, puffed sleeves, fastened with pearl buttons. The gown also featured a scoop neck and long train. Her headdress was lace with beads and pearl accents. Sandra Heppner, Syracuse, aunt of the bride, was matron of honor. Robin Heppner, Syracuse, formerly of Bay City, Mich., sister of the bride, was the bridesmaid.
