J.P. Morgan and Anheuser Busch visited Syracuse for a two-month fishing trip. The trip started and ended at Lake Wawasee. The foursome initially pitched a tent alongside the large lake. But Vawter wanted more than a tent, so he built a cottage. The facility housed the fishing quartet. After several years of fishing together, the foursome broke up and Vawter decided to built a hotel. Os the group, only Lilly remained with Vawter. Both built buildings near the lake, Vawter on the south side, Lilly, the north. Vawter wanted a facility; that others could enjoy. A hotel with a park met the needs of the residents and visitors. However, the hotel was destroyed by fire on three separate occasions.. Each time, though, Vawter built a new building. The hotel was originally furnished with Victorian gentility. South Shore Condominiums now stands where the former hotels rested. The condos set off the park area. The shoreline property facility was built in 1981. 17-years after the final hotel fire. Vawter’s original tract of land covered 320 acres, stretching over South Shore Golf Course. The park owner's property has diminished, but not the park's tradition. Vawter Park, a quiet area for Syracuse residents 100 years ago, continues the same trend today. The only difference is the additional buildings surrounding the historic site.

Summertime bass use several areas of lake
In the summertime the bass can be using several areas of the lake. They may be using deep water sunken islands, deep water sand bars or the drop-offs along bays. The bass can also be buried in thick cover in shallow water. Bass fishing will be more consistent When you find bass using one type area they will often use it all summer Obß By CHARLESSHANK Weedlines are one of the areas that bass use consistently. Bass do not use all areas of a weedline, however. They will usually be found in certain spots that offer something different for them Weedline points are an example of a difference along a weedline. Inside turns in a weedline (the place where the weedline curves in toward shore) are another type area that offers the bass something different. An area of scattered rocks along a weedline, a bunch of sunken tree tops, an area of hard Space station cost The United States space station, originally projected to cost $8 billion, will actually cost $32.8 billion in 1988 dollars, a panel of the National Research Council advised the Reagan administration. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration had estimated the cost at sl6 billion, in 1984 dollars. Inflation increases that to sl9 billion for 1988 dollars.

bottom located along a weedline located on a mucky bottom and an area on the weedline where one weed type stops growing and another starts growing will offer the bass that change he is looking for If you know how to fish a weedline effectively you can usually catch bass during favorable weather conditions. If a real strong cold front blows through and drops temperatures several degrees the bass usually shut off and almost nothing will catch them. A plastic worm fished with a slip sinker is an excellent lure for fishing the weedlines. A jig with a plastic worm is also an excellent lure choice for these conditions. To fish the worm with the weight, you cast it out toward the weedline and let it sink on a tight line. Bass often strike the worm as it falls and if the line is not tight you will not feel the fish strike the worm. Watching your line is also an excellent idea because often the bass will strike the worm and swim toward the boat. The line will go slack and you will never feel a strike. When you feel a strike or the line goes slack you should set the hook. Plastic worms work very well on bright, sunny days or when the fish are not real active. Plastic worm fishing is slow. You cannot cover a lot of water when you fish a plastic worm. To retrieve the worm after your line goes slack, you give the worm little “hops” across the bottom. How high you hop the worm and how fast depends on how active the bass are. You just have to experiment. Usually, however, worms work better when fished slowly and not hopped very high off the bottom. The bass usually strike the worm as it falls. Some fishermen feel that the worm color makes a big difference. Other fishermen believe that any color worm will work as long as it is black. I try to use different colors depending on the weather and water conditions. I could buy a neat little gadget called a lure color selector that would tell me the best colors. I have not bought one and still catch a lot of fish. You can still fish successfully without one. I like to use lighter translucent colors when fishing in clear water-reds, greens, blues and even clear worms without any

color. For fishing when the water is discolored I like to use dark colors. Black, dark blue, grape and metal flake combinations all work well. To successfully fish plastic worms for bass you have to have a rod that is sensitive. A rod that has a softer tip section and a stiff butt section works well. Rods like this are called fast-action rods. Another name for them is worm rods. A graphite rod is the best type of rod material for this style of fishing A good rod made of fiberglass will work, but not as well as a graphite rod. Some fishermen prefer spinning rods while others prefer casting rods. I have used both and prefer a casting rod. I do not think it makes much difference though, as long as the rod is sensitive and has the right action. I use 10 or 12 lb. test line. I like to use the high visibility line that glows above water but does not glow under water. Some fishermen like lighter line and some heavier line. I do not think line size is that critical in worm fishing. If you need more feel of what the worm is doing, just add a larger slip weight in front of the worm. I am going to use the new low stretch line this year. I think that type of line is better because
it allows you to feel what your worm is doing and you can set the hook better. Plastic worms are not magic lures. You will not always catch fish on them, but when fished under the right conditions they are an excellent choice. If you do not use them now, try a few. If used properly they will improve your catch.
