RUNNING CLLB ORGANIZED — A new running club, known as •Off *N’ Run’N,’ has been organized in Kosciusko County. The club meets each Tuesday evening at the Kosciusko Community YMCA and is open to both beginners and experienced runners.
Running club at YMCA
A new running club has recently been formed in the Koscitasko County area. The organisation, known as “Off ‘N’ Run’N,’fmeets every Tuesday evening/at the Kosciusko Community YMCA. Each week the group hosts an outdoor club run/walk at 7 p.m., with a distance choice of one to eight miles. If the weather is not suitable for outdoor activities, the club takes advantage of the new YMCA suspended jogging/walking track. The weekly club runs are not competitive and the emphasis is on friendship and comaraderie, rather than competition. A short business meeting preceeds the weekly run/walk at 6:45 p.m. to discuss upcoming events and activities of the club. “Off ‘N’ Run’N,” which is still in the developing stages, is open to anyone who wishes to gain fellowship and support from fellow run/walk participants. Veteran runners or beginners, young or older, male or female, are all eligible to join “Off ‘N’ Run’N.” Membership in the YMCA is not required, but members are encouraged to take advantage of the new facilities offered at the YMCA. As the organization grows in
membership, activities will be expanded. Possible future activities include weekend club runs, traveling and host events, guest speakers and seminars. For further information, call membership chairman Reg Johnson at 566-2324, or the Kosciusko Community YMCA at 269-9622. Poison number incorrect in phone book United Telephone officials have announced that the telephone number listed in the Nappanee Phone Book for the Indiana Poison Control Center is incorrect. The correct number is 1-800-382-9097 Jerry Rumple, Community Relations Manager for United, urges everyone to make the correction in the front of the Phone Book to make sure the number is available when needed. Again, the correct number is 1-800-382-9097. Use quilted hangers Quilted hangers are good for hanging clothes because they will not let the shoulders of dresses and suits become pressed out of place.
