Sesquicenteimial corrections It has been brought to the attention of the editor that several facts in the sesquicentennial publication distributed last week were incorrect. We i v regret the errors, they are always easy to make I when working with history and people’s memories, i and offer this column as a correction of those wrong facts. I The two men in the photo were identified as I Frederick “Shorty” Ritter, left, and Allen - 0' ’-I “Googie" Ritter, Shorty’s son-in-law. Mrs. David fjJMishler of New Paris, however, informs us the man r Rk' l 8 A _ on the right is her father, Fredrick Allen Ritter. 11 Fredrick Allen was the grandson of Frederick “Shorty” Ritter, pictured on the left and correctly f A . 'PV „W'J ’*•'* *■ ? * identified last week. ** v Vera Kitson informs us that the article on the % k KV t history of the .Order of the Eastern Star noted she is W _ no longer a member of that organization. She is, ip *B ■I a fact, a 52-year member of that organization. / —y ® N't i I And, in the history of the St. Martin’s Church, y no mention was made that there was a Catholic / church in the area prior to the building of St. Mar- / tin’s. There was, indeed, a Catholic community in the Syracuse-Wawasee area for many years before the current church was established.
