Ardith I. Pheister Services were held at 10:30 am. Saturday, June 20, in DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, Columbia City, for Mrs. Ardith Jlene Pheister, 73, Big Lake, Columbia City. She died at 1:50 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, 1967, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Columbia City, where she had been transferred Tuesday. She had been in failing health three years. She was the sister of Mrs. Irma Vanator, Leesburg. Mrs. Pheister was born in Noble County on March 21,1915, the daughter of Harvey S. and Laura Ann (Paulus) Fruchey. On October 18,1957, she married Lester Pheister. He survives. She was a " housewife and member of the Big Lake Church of God. Surviving with her husband and sister are one brother, Daniel M. Fruchey, Columbia City; two additional sisters, Alice Wolfe, Nappanee, and Mrs. Ralph (Itha) McKown, Columbia City. She was preceded in death by two brothers. Rev- Philip Blake officiated at the service with burial following in Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam. ins M. Stiver Mrs. Ina M. Stiver, 91, Greencroft Nursing Center, formerly of New Paris, died Tuesday, June 16, 1987, at 3:30 a.m. at the center. She had been a resident there since 1982 and had been in failing health for five years. Mrs. Stiver was born in New Paris on January 27, 1896, the daughter of James and Maggie Grant O’Neal. In 1919, she married Irvin Stiver. He preceded her in death on September 3,1959. She was a homemaker and member of the New Paris United Methodist Church. Surviving are two sons, Robert

J. Stiver, Goshen, and Donald W. Stiver, Syracuse; one daughter, Mrs. Forest (Mary Lou) Smith, Syracuse; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. One son, James William, was killed in action on June 15,1942, during World War 11. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Erastus, and one sister, Florence Pate. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 19, in the New Paris United Methodist Church, with Rev. Robert Carmin, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial followed in New Paris Cemetery. Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, Goshen, was in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the New Paris United Methodist Church. Herbert Webster Herbert W. Webster, 78, r 2 Bel Rohr Island, Leesburg, died at 10 p.m. Friday, June 19, 1987, at his home. He had been in failing health for six months. Webster was born in Alexandria on July 15, 1908, the son of Frank and Bertha (Dunham) Webster. On May 15, 1928, he married Ida Belle Moystner. She survives. He retired from the DelcoRemy General Motors Division in Anderson and 19 years ago moved to the Leesburg area. { Surviving with his wife are twin daughters, Mrs. Betty Lou Catt, Warsaw, and Mrs. Richard (Betty Jean) Montgomery, Marion; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. Services were held yesterday, Tuesday, June 23, at 1:30 p.m. in the Brown & Butz Funeral Home, Anderson, with Rev. Melvin Linville officiating. Burial was in East Maplewood Cemetery, Anderson. Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, was in charge of local arrangements.

She died Saturday, June 19,1987, at 6 a.m. in Goshen Hospital. She was born on March 3,1898, the daughter of William and Ida (Dawson) Gochenour and had resided most of her life in the Leesburg area. In 192Qjshe married Jess Long. He preceded her in death on January 1; 1963. Surviving are one son, Robert E. Long, Leesburg; four grandchildren; and eight greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers and two great-grandchildren. Rev. Dale Mendenhall officiated at the service and burial followed in the Leesburg Cemetery. - « Joseph D. Fagan Joseph David Fagan, 17, Rochester, stepbrother of Michael Covington, Syracuse, died early Friday morning, June 19, 1987, at a friend’s rural Rochester home. The son of John (Nuke) and Margaret “Maggie” (Doran) Fagan, he was born in Rochester on March 23, 1970. He was a lifetime resident of the area. Fagan would have been a junior at Rochester Community High School where he was active in sports and was a member of the football team and the Fulton County Chapter of the Abate Motorcycle Club. He was employed by Nubiano’s Pizza in Rochester. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Margaret (Maggie) Covington, Rochester; his father, John (Nuke) Fagan, Winaman; one sister, Mrs. Deborah Ogle, Rochester; three brothers,

She had been admitted there {wo years ago from Greencroft Retirement Center, Elkhart. Mrs. Mishler was born in Garden City, Mo., on October 25, 1893. On December 5, 1914, she married Milton J. Mishler. He preceded her in death on March 15,1973. Most of her life was spent in the Forks community where she was a member of the Forks Mennonite Church and a homemaker. Also surviving are two sons, Merrill, Plato, and Glenn, Elkhart; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was a Marine veteran of World War II and served as past president of the Marion YMCA board of directors and the Marion General Hospital board of trustees. Surviving are his wife; two sons, Thomas, Winnipeg, Canada, and John, Marion; a daughter, Mrs. Herman (Elaine) Emmet, New York City; and a sister, Mrs. John R. (Marilyn) Feighner, Hilton Head, S.C. Burial followed the service in the IOOF Cemetery, Marion. Memorials may be directed to the respiratory therapy department of Marion General Hospital. Claude L. Linn Claude L. Linn, 93, New Troy, Mich., died at 7:15 p.m. Sunday, June 21, 1987, in Shoreham Terrace Nursing Center, St. Joseph, Mich. A former Goshen resident, Linn was born in Milford on December 6,1893. He was an Army veteran of World War I and member of the Troy American Legion Post 518. He moved to Michigan 22 years ago from Goshen. Surviving are two daughters, Viola Trina, New Troy, and Helen Stevens, Elkhart; three grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah, and a daughter, Irene Linn, who died in 1986. Friends may call today, Wednesday, at the Boyd Funeral Home, Bridgman, and from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. tomorrow at the Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, Goshen. Bowen Center expands hours
In order to more effectively serve the needs of a wide range of citizens in Kosciusko County, the Bowen Center office in Warsawis expanding its evening hours. The center will be open 5 days a week; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday, Wednesday and Friday. On Tuesday and Thursday the center hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. By expanding to include Thursday evenings the complete range of center services will now be available to persons who must work during the daytime; Individual and family therapy, and group therapy will be available at evening hours. Intake services will be provided, and also psychiatric coverage. The 24-hour, seven-day a week emergency services continue as they have in the past. The Bowen Center continues to explore ways of making services more accessible for the benefit of county citizens. The board of directors, the advisory council and the administration are open to suggestions for the enhancement of services, and for ways of more effectively meeting the needs of the people in this area.
