10 YEARS AGO, MAY 11, 1977 , Members of the Milford Town Board signed documents for the go ahead of the proposed 1.9 million dollar feed mill for Maple Leaf Farms, Inc., Monday night. A 1973 Caprice Estate Chevrolet station wagon was stolen from behind - Doll’s Decorating, Milford, between 8 and 9 a.m. last Thursday. The car owned by Mr. and Mrs. Arnold (“Pete”) Doll, was later spotted in Oswego and New Paris. Mike Liberti, parts manager at C. S. Myers, Milford was designated a Bronze Medallion Manager by the FfJrd Motor Company. Liberti placed third of 23 in

Beer, a student in the landscape and nursery industry short course in the horticulture department at Michigan State University, will be working for Hunziker’s Landscape Nursery this spring and summer. Army private Verl G. Baker, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Baker, Milford, fired expert with the M-14 rifle near the completion of basic combat training at Fort Campbell, Ky., April 12. Officers were nominated and elected at the Monday evening meeting of the Ancil Geiger post 226 American Legion at Milford. Dan Levernier was elected commander. Major Charles E. Rogers, Ist air commando squadron, United States air force, was tost in action in Viet Nam on Thursday, May 4. He was the son-in-law of Mr. and Mrs. William Perry.

At their monthly meeting on Monday, May 1, members of the town board declared May 8 to 13 as clean up week. ; / 30 YEARS AGO, MAY 9,1957 Former Milford residents, John Robinson and Russell Price will head the John Robinson Seed Co. in Nappanee. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Geiger have sold their home to Mr. and Mrs. Allen J. Roudabush. Mr. and Mrs. Geiger plan to build a new home at Waubee Lake in the Groves addition, adjacent to the new Howard Kreider home being constructed. Pvt. William F. Charlton, whose wife Marlene, 'fives in Larwill, Ind., recently was graduated from, the basic Army administration course at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo. The 22-year-old soldier was graduated from International Business College, Ft. Wayne, in 1954. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald W. Charlton live in Milford. Dennis Sharp and Raymond Zimmerman have been named valedictorian and salutatorian of the class of 1957 of Milford high school. Dennis, son of Mr. and Mrs Burris N. Sharp, has a credit point average of 3.94, which is among the highest in the history of the school. Raymond,

KARATE STUDENTS DO WELL — The Lion’s Taekwondo students did well as they participated in the spring tournament which was held recently in Schaumberg, 111. quite ill last week after eating part of an apple which contained arsenic poison. He picked the apple up in the alley near the Fuller store, where it had been placed for rats. A physician was called immediately after he had told of eating the apple, who worked with him and saved him from any serious ill effects of the poison. Wade Mishler started his duties as assistant at the Brittsan store last week. Miss Bernice Hollar, elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Amy Hollar assumed a stenographic position with the Studebaker Corporation at S. Bend, on Monday. Miss Hollar recently finished a business course at the Ft. Wayne Business College.
