Nemeth lifts Wawasee to Invitational win

SYRACUSE — Wawasee used John Nemeth’s 73 to lift itself past 2 Z. Z IZZ Z Z Zll 323 the Wawasee Invitational Saturday at South Shore. Penn was third in the weekend invitational with 319 points, but

North Wood captures Warrior Relays

SYRACUSE — Depth was the difference in the sixth annual Warrior Relays, held Monday evening at Wawasee High School. The Panthers, with exceptional talent, topped the six-team field with 98 ppoints. Plymouth followed with 81, while the host Warriors were fifth with 45 points. The Panther victory was the team’s first triumph in the relays. Wawasee gained one individual first in the meet. Junior high wins two

Wawasee’s junior high golf program, consisting of Diavers from all’three facilities, have a 2-1 record entering Friday's match with West Noble. The Warrior squad opened the season by losing to Central Noble. Since then, however, Wawasee has defeated Westview and West Noble.

Team leaders for Wawasee are Monty Reynolds. Jeff Williams. Andrew Katsanis, and Zac Watterson. Reynolds, a seventh grader from North Webster has shot, for the season, a 51, 44, and 46. Meanwhile, Williams, an eightgrade student at Milford, has scores this season of 50, 48, and 53. Katsanis of North Webster has been the most consistent this season, shooting a 49 and a pair of 50s. Watterson, Syracuse’s lone golfer on the ‘A’ team, has scored a 54, 45, and 50 in the team's three matches.
