Judith Taylor, Dr. Craig Tucker married in lowa on March 21
Judith Ann Taylor, Moline, 111., became the bride of Dr. Craig Lewis Tucker, New Liberty, lowa, in a 4 p.m. ceremony on March 21 in Bettendorf Christian Church. Karl Roberts, pastor of the church, performed the double-ring ceremony in the presence Os 350 family members and friends. Parents of the newlyweds are Mr. and Mrs. Lester Taylor, East Moline, 111., and Mr. and Mrs. Leon Tucker, Milford. The altar was decorated with bouquets of white gladiolus, light and dark blue carnations with dark blue bows. There were blue bows on the pews.. Ruth Seneff, Bettendorf, was organist, with Kevin Smith, Champaign, 111., as soloist. He sang “Evergreen,” “Wedding Song,” “Annie’s Song” and “Longer.” The bride chose a gown of white satin taffeta and petit-point lace. The gown had puffed sleeves, ruffled edged apron front, dainty bows accenting the sleeves and down the back of the cathedrallength train. Her headpiece was of sequins and pearls with lily of the valley and pearls falling on the sides. Her bouquet was of white roses and blue carnations with blue baby’s breath. Robin Taylor, East Moline, 111., sister-in-law of the bride, was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Jill Merfeid and Julie Posada, friends of the bride, both from Rock Island, 111. Their gowns were royal blue matte taffeta with off-the-shoulder bodice and ruffled back brush train. Baby’s breath accented their hair. They each carried three single white roses with dark blue bows. Dr. Larry Rueff, friend of the groom from Greensburg, served as best man. Groomsmen were Dr. Bruce Lamb, Milford, and Dr. Dave Nichols, Manhattan, Kan., both friends of the groom. Darby Smith, Des Moines, lowa, and Mark Pickering, Lewisville, friends of the groom, luniorMothers discuss plans for spring party The Syracuse Junior Mothers Club met at the home of Dot Wysong on Monday, April 20, with 14 members and one guest, Barb Steenport, in attendance. Program chairman Jan Maher introduced Connie Smith from Smith’s Flowers and Gifts in Milford. Mrs. Smith gave a demonstration on fresh flower arrangement and gave tips for using garden flowers this-summer. She alsftgave a demonstration on silk flower arrangements and displayed severaF she had brought yjHi her. Presided Rosemary Carroll conducted the business meeting. Minutes of the March meeting and Treasurer Dot Wysong’s report were approved. Plans for the annual joint Mothers Clubs’ spring party were made with Treasurer Wysong. This year’s party, hosted by the Primary Mothers Club, will be held at Oakwood Park on May 18 at6:3op.m. The club completed plans for its philantropic project this year by deciding to send SIOO to the Syracuse school to send four students to the International Summer Olympic Games in South Bend on July 31-August 8 at the Notre Dame campus. It was also decided to donate $75 to the Lakeland Day Care Center. Previous donations this year have been: SIOO to school nurse Mary Horney for her special fund for needy children’s health needs, $25 to the Syracuse Sesquicentennial Committee, and $25 to the Syracuse Public Library’s expansion fund. Janet Hays reported that there are more caramees to be sold as a fund-raising project for the sesquicentennial committee. Committee, members to work on a float for the Syracuse Sesquicentennial parade are Rosemary Carroll, Janet Hays, Mary Prescott, and Joan Stoelting. Refreshments were served by hostess Dot Wysong and cohostesses Janet Larkey and Vera Hall.

served as ushers. The bride’s mother chose a peach crepe street-length dress with the groom’s mother wearing a blue crepe street-length dress. Both wore corsages of blue carnations and white sweetheart roses. The reception was held immediately following the ceremony at the Davenport Holiday Inn, Davenport, lowa. A buffet dinner was served followed by a dance with music provided by “Cafaye” band. Serving at the reception were Laura Weller, Silver Lake, and Lydia Vaught, South Bend, twin sisters of the groom: Deanna Walker, Rock Island, 111., and Taralee Runyon, Moline, 111., both cousins of the bride.

The open house will be hosted by their children. Gene and Barbara Rarick, New Paris; George and Janet (Rarick) Lightner,.Troy, Ohio; and Max and Janette Rarick, Bremen. The couple also has eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Dane Rarick and the former Hazel Weybright were married February 27, 1937, in the First Brethren Parsonage in New Paris. Rev. G. W. Rench performed the ceremony. They owned and operated Rarick’s Hilltop Orchard near Milford for many years. In June 1980, Mr. Rarick retired from Zimmer, Inc., Warsaw. The Raricks spend the winter months in Nokomis, Fla. They request no gifts other than the presence of their friends.

Janella Gillette, Davenport, lowa, was in change of the guest book. The bride is a graduate of United Township High School in East Moline, 111. She was employed with John Deere Parts Distribution Center in Milan, 111. The groom is a 1973 graduate of Wawasee High School and graduated in 1979 from Purdue University with a degree in doctor of veterinary medicine. He is a veterinarian with the New Liberty Veterinary Clinic in New Liberty, lowa, and is a member of Farm House Fraternity at Purdue. Following a wedding trip to Hawaii, the couple is now residing at r 1, Stockton, lowa.

Lakeland Art Association sets annual spring exhibit
The Lakeland Art Association will hold its 30th annual spring exhibit and sale at the Bowen Center in Warsaw, May 2-3. The event will be open to the public on Saturday from 10 a m. to 7 p.m., and on Sunday from 12 to 5 p.m. Entries will be accepted on Friday, May 1, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Judging and critiques will be on Sunday by Warsaw Community High School art teacher Sara Robbins, who has judged many juried events. The artists’ reception, critique and awards presentation will be from 1 to 4:30 p.m., Sunday. Viewer preference balloting will t>e Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with special viewing and reception from 2 to 5 p.m. ’ Special merit awards and cash prizes will be uV.uiuvw ,n cam division in all classes, as well as honorable mention awards.
