COOP >!™c VBOM A PRISON CELL! she Jewish leaders replied to Paul, "We have heard nothing against you! We have had no letters from Judea or reports from those arriving from Jerusalem. But we want to hear what you believe, for the only thing we know about these Christians is that they are denounced everywhere! So a time was set and on that day large numbers came to his house. He told Fhem about the Kingdom of God and taught them about Jesus from the Scriptures—from the five books of Moses and the books of prophecy. He began lecturing in the morning and went on into the evening! Some believed, and some didn't. But after they had argued backhand forth among fhemselves, they left with this final word from Paul ringing in their ears: "The Holy Spirit was right when He said through Isaiah the prophet, 'Say to the Jews, "You will hear and see but not understand, for your hearts are too fat and your ears don't listen and you have closed your eyes against understanding, for you don’t want to see and hear and understand and turn to Me to heal you."' So I want you to realize that this salvation from God is available to the Gentiles, too, and they will accept it." Paul lived for the next two years in his rented house and welcomed all who visited him, telling them with all boldness about the Kingdom of God and about the Lord Jesus Christ; and no one tried to stop him Acts 28:21-31

Faith tells us that real beauty is more than skin deep •:

ooking at any group of people will convince you that very few of us were born exceptionally beautiful or handsome, as the case may be. The rest of us make the best of whatever attributes we have, unless we can afford expensive salon treatments or plastic surgery. However, we should realize that mere surface beauty is no guarantee of happiness, when we recall that many of the most glamorous screen stars were unable to achieve it. Indeed, after a series of marriages and divorces, some of them have spent their later years alone and friendless; their great attractiveness long gone. It is but a fleeting thing anyway, as our faith teaches us; and the only real and enduring kind of beauty is that which comes from within and is marked by kindness and a genuine concern for others. It is a form of beauty that age cannot erase, and the only kind that can trulySjring happiness to anyone.

Saint Valentine, a young Roman, was martyred on February 14, 270 AD, because he refused to give up Christianity. While in prison, the daughter of the jailor befriended him. Before dying, he left her a note signed “From your Valentine.” Since Thinking aloud Two wise men, walking down the road of time, saw Tomorrow approaching dimly in the distance. They shouted, “Tell us. Tomorrow, what are you like? Shall we fear you or feast you?” Tomorrow answered in tones that sourfded clearly through the mist, “Come to me neither with anxiety ®r with procrastination, but with faith and hope and with today's work well done. You cannot know ahead what I am like, but when you reach me you shall see me through the eyes of what vou are."

that time, Valentine’s Day has been inaugurated as a day of love; but surely love should be a daily thing. Test yourself on the following to see if you have loved someone lately by visiting or sending cards or letters to the sick, nursing home patients, shut-ins, and prisoners; comforting those in sorrow, praying for or/and giving financial assistance to those in suffering from flood, tornado, or fire; giving a helping hand, giving food or clothing to those in need, listening to those with problems, and reading to or writing a letter for those with poor eyesight. Jesus said, “A new commandment I give unto you, that ye love one another as I have loved you” (John 13:34). How can we love as Jesus did? We cannot of ourselves do this but must be filled with the Spirit of Jesus by asking and wanting Him to take over our lives, and then being greater filled by speaking psalms and singing hymns and giving thanks. Read Ephesians 5:18-20.

“If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love” (John 15:10), and Jesus gave the following commandments for loving others. “Bear ye one another’s burdens” (Galatians 6:2); <“Edify one another” (1 Thess. 5:11); “Be patient toward all men” (1 Thess. 5:14); ‘'lmparting some spiritual gift” (Rom. 1:11); “Be kindly affectionate one to another with brotherly love, in honour preferring one another” (Rom. 12:10); “distributing to the necessity of saints, given to hospitality” (Rom. 12:12; “Rejoice with them that rejoice, and weep with them that weep” (Rom. 12:21); and “Walk in love” (Eph. 5:2). The following words from the Bible show the importance of love. It is proof that one is saved for “everyone that loveth is born of God and knoweth God” (1 John 4:7); “God is love” (1 John 4:16) and the opposite is hate which is of the devil and so when we are not loving, we sin; “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples if ye have love one to

another” (John 13:35); love is the first fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22,23) by which we will be judged at the Bema Seat for rewards according to what we have done in love for God and in love for Jesus; love fulfills the law (Matthew 22:37-40); and by Loving others “we have fellowship with God the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ” (1 John 1:3). In conclusion: “Beloved, let us love one another: For love is of God, and knoweth God” (1 John 4:7); and let us not" love one another just on St. Valentine’s Day but every day of the year.
