LBy MARIETTA FULLER Guest H'riter Now we are not going to see a replay of Gunsmoke on TV, or see if someone in an accident is dead or alive; but we are concerned with the spiritual life of those who believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, (Acts 8:37) The body without the spirit is DEAD. (James 2:26) How do we then become ALIVE? In Ephesians 5:18 we are commanded. “Be filled with the Spirit,” Sin grieves the Holy Spirit for He cannot work in our behalf; therefore, we must be sure that the temples of our bodies are cleansed by confessing our sins. (I John 1:9) Then vield self to God, (Gal 2:20) Dr Theodore Epp. in his book. “The Holy Comforter.” and Dr Billy Graham, in his book. “The Holy Spirit.” say that we must do more than ask to be filled — we must be controlled by the Spirit; such as. “Dear God. please fill

me with the Holy Spirit and take charge of my life today, or might thy will be done in my life.” Or you might say, “Dear Jesus, please come into my heart and help me to live right.” One may require several fillings during a day or none, depending on whether he has been able to fight the temptations of sin of the devil and his workers. To be greater filled we are told in Ephesians 5:19 to speak in psalms and sing songs. Also in Ephesians 5:20 we are told to thank God. Singing songs and thanking God can be done separately or in conjunction with the songs which lead to greater fellowship with God and with Jesus, our Lord and Saviour “Without me,” Jesus said, “You can do nothing” and so the following list shows the importance of being filled with the Spirit: We will produce the fruits of the Spirit (read Gal. 5:21-22 and John 15:5) from whence our rewards come; and thus glorify God. the Father. (John 15:8)

The gifts given by the Spirit (I Cor. 12:4,7) will be used in building up the body of Christ.
