Todd, owner of Todd Realty , has long enjoy ed the benefits of jogging, as has his office manager. Clare Baumgardt. Their knowledge and enthusiasm will be welcome additions to the carnival event. Handling logistics, entries and various other coordinating activities for the Todd Realty W inter Road Race w ill be Tony Clouse, a Milford School teacher and a well-known runner. Special entr\ forms will be available soon. Runners and spectators should plan to be at Lakeside Park in Syracuse on Saturdav. Jan. 24. The race will start at 10 a.ni. and will last until all runneis have completed the five kilometer (three mile* course.

KIWAN’IS CHRISTMAS All) PROGRAM — Tuesday and Wednesday of this week was the time members of the Wawasee Kiwanis Club packaged and gave food and clothing to needy families of the community. According to Bob Watt, Kiwanis member who headed up this year’s aid program, the value of merchandise and gifts ran into thousands of dollars.

Syracuse Town Hall to organize the oeard for the coining year an<T-eq®nplete items of year-end business.. The make-up of the board remained the same as in 1986. with James Hughes re-elected as board president. Liaison positions of board members wiß remain the same as at present, with Bill Hess designated to accompany Joe Dock, utilities superintendent, to regional sewer district meetings. Robert Reed will continue as town attorney. Bob ZiUer as town marshal and Joe Dock as utilities superintendent Also. Larry Hunter will continue as fire chief and Kip Schumm was reappointed to the park board. Fire department officers for the new year, in addition to the chief, will be Joe Anderson, first assistant; Jerry Byrd, second assistant; Tim Weisser. captain; Ron Pollock, lieutenant; Roger Grothaus. secretary; and Scott Wallace, second lieutenant. On the Syracuse Board of Zoning Appeals. Stu Walker and Larry Martindale have resigned and will need to be replaced. Jean Rogers and Joe Hughes will con tmue on the BZA The board is keeping its ap pointment to the county BZA open to see if anyone from the Syracuse area expresses an in terest in serving on that board Anyone interested should contact a town board member soon. Year-end claims and 1987 budgets were approved, as was the salary ordinance for the new year. The next regular meeting of the Syracuse Town Board will be on Jan. 20.1987.

Gander and Tim Mattern. Dave Delp said this job was being done along with two similar jobs in the Goshen area. He said " a lot of working gees into an installation of this types”' and that the step tight would not be activated until about the first of February. The corner in guestion has long been a point of grave concern for people of this area, inasmuch as traffic in that area has increased so much. There have been a number of fatalities there resulting from serious accidents.
