As of the close of business on Friday. Dec’ 19. the merger of Peoples State Bank of Leesburg and First National Bank of Warsaw was consummated. Effective December 20, the Peoples State Bank of Leesburg became the Leesburg Bank, an office of First National Bank of Warsaw Representatives of the banks met Friday for the final closing formalities. Jim Heierman. president of Peoples State Bank, signed on behalf of Peoples State Bank, while FNB president Neal M Carlson signed for both First National Bank of Warsaw and FN Bancorp, the local holding company for FNB of Warsaw. were really pleased with the event. It was a meaningful program which combined the beauty of the Candleria with the true meaning of Christmas." She was pleased that many visitors were able to stop by the town hall after the program for refreshments. The two ministers who narrated the Nativity program were both very happy with the evening. Rev. Bill Smith, pastor of Grace Brethren Church in Leesburg, saiff, "I was thrilled with the turnout and thought the presence of the Spirit was great and helped draw the people of the town together. The play helped remind people of the true meaning of Christmas. ” Rev. Dale Mendenhall said, "I was very pleased with the cooperative efforts of the people of Leesburg. The turnout for the Nativity program far exceeded our expectations." He added that the music of the Warsaw High School brass ensemble and the group singing of Christmas carols put everyone in a proper frame of mind for the Nativity program.
