Warrior band to leave for Florida oh December 26

The Wawasee Marching Warrior Band will be taking a trip to Jacksonville. Fla., during the Christmas holidays to perform in the Gator Bowl Festival PreGame show, parade, and marching contest. The 140-piece marching Warrior band will be leaving at 5 a m. on Friday. Dec 26. and will be accompa n i e d by 16 adult chaperones The band will take four buses and the entire first day and night will be spent traveling, as it will take about 24 hours to reach Jacksonville. The band will arrive on Saturday Dec 27. at 4:30 am. and will eat breakfast, change into uniforms and have a practice on the field at 6:30 a m with the 25 other bands, who will make up the massed band show to be presented at the Gator Bowl. Following practice band members will line up for the Gator Bowl Parade, to take place at 9 a m The parade will be carried on Florida Cable Channels. Following the parade the band will proceed to the Gator Bowl Stadium to present the pre-game show at 11 30 a m The game will be telecast on CBS at 12:30 p.m. A time for relaxation in a motel will follow the game before going back to the practice field to practice their competition show. KIDS CARE — Fourth grade students at Syracuse Elementary School display projects made for senior citizens who have lunch at the nutrition site. Students planned a project during education week, which initiated a project in December. Decorations focusing on a turkey and pilgrim theme were also made in November. For December, place mats, napkin rings, and favors depicted Santa Claus, reindeer. Christmas trees, and poinsettias. Each student in the school picked a name from a box and provided a card for that person.
