Zerola Zook of New Paris and Mrs. William Whetten of Loyal Temple. 130, Pythian Sisters of Syracuse, attended the Cromwell Pythian Sisters on Monday night, Oct. 24, as guests. Jack Schlotterback of Syracuse has leased the motel south of Syracuse on SR 13, formally Marley’s Motel. Mr. Schlotterback will rent the units by the s week 4:o working men. Single rooms for workers in the Syracuse area have been hard to find and Mr. Schlotterback feels this will meet the demand. A jolly crowd happened to meet and have lunch together last week. Nusbaum, Syracuse, have returned from a vacation trip to California. They visited their daughter and son-in-law, Captain and Mrs. John 0. Berg, and family at Castle AFB, Atwater, Calif.
They also visited San Francisco, Disneyland and other points of interest. 38 YEARS AGO, NOV. 1,1956 More than 300 children and adults crowded into the old gymnasium Saturday night for the annual PTA festival. Jack D. Clark, master of ceremonies, started 5 the parade of masqueraders on its way. The Mechanical Man, at all times as he appeared on the stage, received wholehearted applause and in the final judging was awarded the grand prize, a gold loving cup and a United States $25 Bond. Identified as Philip Charters, it was discovered that this sixth grader had designed and made his costume, for entry in the category of Comic Book Characters. With new personnel in the band each year and the thread-bare appearances of many of the thirty-five uniforms, it has been decided by school officials that new band uniforms are of greatest importance. The old uniforms have been altered for size many times and are beginning to show the strain of their wear and tear, in spite of being kept in good repair.
