farmers who do not have enough cash to put food on their tables. Indiana has been participating in this program since March. The Indiana Council of Churches distributes this money in grants of up to $l5O to S2OO to Indiana farmers who appeal to local pastors for emergency aid for food, clothing and utility and medical bills. Grants are made on a basis of need, regardless of race or religious affiliation. A gift of SIOO to S2OO to a fanner struggling under a six-figure debt might seem miniscule. However, Rev. Burton Kugler, chairman of the Wyoming Rural Support Network Board, points out, “I can give a list of farmers who produce wheat or beef, but have had to go on food stamps because they just don’t have any income anymore. Even their cattle are mortgaged. They can’t sell a cow tobuy groceries or pay the light bill. The money has to go to the bank.” Barton Hunter, interim executive director of the 1.C.C., urges Indiana farmers to take advantage of this assistance. There are funds available for immediate (within 24 hour) delivery. Farmers requesting aid should contact a pastor in their area who will contact the Indiana Council of Churches office*at 317-923-3674. The funds will then be sent to the pastor making the request tor delivery to the farmer. There will be no record of the recipient’s name at the Council office so that anonymity can be preserved. Food auction at Bashor Home The Bashor Home Auxiliary will hold its annual food auction in Arbogast Center, Bashor Home in Goshen, on Monday, Nov. 10. The United Methodist Church of Mishawaka will serve coffee at 9:15 a.m. and musical numbers will be performed by Marsha Green and Helen Bontrager. The public is invited to attend.

Love Love all God’s creation, the whole and every grain of sand in it. Love every leaf, every ray of God’s light: Love the animals, love the plants, love everything. If you love everything, you will perceive the divine mystery in things. Once you perceive it, you will begin to comprehend it better every day, and you will come at last to love the whole world with an all-embracing love. — Feodor Dostoyevsky
