The most visible change in this summer’s program was an increase in the number of women attending, said Richard Doolittle, executive vice president of the Graduate School of Banking. That change occurred because more women are moving into middle- and upper-level management positions, he said. Os the 1,197 students in this summer’s session, 18 percent were women. The school also recognizes the influence of microcomputers on bank management, supplying student access to about 100 computers, Doolittle said. Microcomputers are used throughout the program and BANKSIM 11, a bank management simulation, comprises about half of the thirdyear curriculum. The school is presented by the Centra] States Conference of Bankers Associations and the University of WisconsinMadison. Students attended this year from 36 states and the District of Columbia.
