r .** i ’ Bfe. \ ;w®L Ww /r I mji LITTLE BEAR’ TO BE PRESENTED — “Little Bear." a play designed to help children learn how to prevent and report sexual abuse, is being presented in area schools again this year. The play has a “good touch-bad touch" theme and is geared to children in grades ' kindergarten through sixth grade. The piay was researched, written and tested by the Bridgework Theater Group of Goshen, and is produced in Kosciusko County by the Kosciusko County Child Abuse Prevention Program (KOSCOCAPP) committee of the Mental Health Association of Kosciusko County. The MH A presents this play in cooperation with the Welfare Department, the Public Health Department, law enforcement agencies and the Bowen Center, all of whom combine their efforts to help prevent child abuse within Kosciusko County. There is no charge to the schools. The MHA receives its support from United Way and other concerned service agencies. The “Little Bear” presentation is available evenings to clubs and organizations. Interested groups may contact the Mental Health Association, 269-2102, or visit the office, 207 E. Center St.. Warsaw. All the women involved in the “Little Bear” program are volunteers. Joan Darr receives MS degree Joan Darr, R.N., assistant director of nursing at Kosciusko Community Hospital, has recently received her master of science degree in administration from the University of Notre Dame. South Bend. Mrs. Darr has been with KCH since the hospital opened in 1976, and has served in a variety of job responsibilities during her tenure with the hospital. Mrs. Darr is currently responsible for staffing in the nursing department, nursing quality assurance and has responsibility Jor the medical, surgical and the intensive care units. She is also house supervisor on the day shift and chairman of the KCH Safety Committee. Mrs. Darr received her diploma in nursing from the lowa Methodist School of Nursing, and her bachelor of science degree from Grace College. She attends the Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church, serves on the board of directors of Crime Stoppers, and is a member of the Faculty Women’s Club at Grace College and Seminary, the Emergency Nurses Association, Indiana Quality Assurance Professionals and the National League of Nursing. She and her husband, director of libraries for GraeejSollege and Seminary, have two children, Michael and David, both students at Warsaw Community High School.
