Kelly Gessinger bride of Mark Simpson
Kelly R. Gessinger and Mark A. Simpson were united in marriage July 26 at 7 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Nappanee by Rev. Jay Morris. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dick (Letitia) Gessinger of Nappanee and the groom is the son of Mr. ?nd Mrs. Max (Arlene) Simpson of North Webster. The bride’s long white gown was made of crystallite satin with Venetian lace. It had long sleeves and a sweetheart neckline with a cathedral train. Her veil was fingertipped-length with silk roses and sprays of seed pearls. She carried white silk roses and white carnations in a cascade bouquet. Dawn Harmon, Nappanee. Flowergirl was Mandee Jo Haas, cousin of the bride./ Ringbearers were Brayden Davis, cousin of the bride, and Alex Plew, nephew of the groom. The attendants dresses were tea-length and were also’ crystallite satin with ruffled off the shoulder sleeves and dropped waists m.pale pink. They wore baby’s breath and silk flowers in their hair and carried lavender silk roses and daisies. The flowergirl’s gown was similar only she had a ruffled train and wore a circle of silk flowers in her hair and carried a tulle basket with silk rosebuds. Jane Plew attended the guest book and organist was Sherry Root. The groom wore an all white tux with the attendants wearing white with pink accents. The mother of the bride wore a
lavender long gown with pink and lavender carnations. The groom’s mother chose a long gown of pink with lavender and pink carnations. The reception, which was held at the Nappanee American Legion, was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Brant Nettrour and Mr. and Mrs. Basil Collins. Music was provided by the group. Sound Sensations. Davis. Paula, Janet, and Chad Hand, all cousins of the bride, and Brenda Ervin. The new Mrs. Simpson is a 1982 graduate of North Wood High School and attended Huntington College for 24 years majoring in physiology. The groom graduated from Wawasee High School in 1979 and Catawba College in North Carolina in 1984 majoring in business administration. After a short honeymoon in Michigan, the couple is now residing in Caen, France, where the groom will be playing pro basketball.

Walker, Reiff united
The North Webster Church of God was the scene of the Saturday, Aug. 9, wedding of Carol Lynne Walker and Todd Alan Reiff. Jim Davey of the North Webster Church of God performed the double-ring ceremony before approximately 250 guests. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Don Arnold of Waubee Lake and Mr. and Mrs. Tom Reiff of North Webster. , Music for the ceremony was provided by Mary. Jo Lundy. “That’s What Friends Are For” and “The Wedding Song’’ were sung by Mark Walker. The bride chose a gown featuring a bodice of Chantilly lace accented with pearls and cap sleeves. She wore an elbowlength veil also accented with pearls and carried a cascading bouquet of pink roses. Maid of honor was Cheryl Walker, twin sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Melissa Kilgore of Rushville, Whitney Marshall of Martinsville, and Jennifer Wozniak of North Webster. All bridal attendants wore full-length dresses of pastel rainbow colors. They carried nose gays accented by their dress color The bridegroom chose Kevin Smith of Indianapolis'as his best man Groomsmen were Steve Williams of Nappanee, Travis Reiff and Troy Reiff, brothers of the bridegroom, of North Webster. Flower girls were Kimberly and Jessica Schmucker, nieces of the bride, from Charlotte, N.C.
After the tossing of their flower petals, the baskets held the rings for the couple. Ushers were Kevin Walker of Syracuse, Eric Beer of Milford, Tom Klusman and Jay Barnhorst of Cincinnati. Participating in the ceremony were Joel Bales, reading scripture, Tom Reiff, leading the congregation in “The Lord’s Prayer,” arid Don Arnold speaking on “The Meaning of Marriage.” Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Camelot Hall, North Webster. Rainbow colored rice-filled roses decorated the tables. Dave Knispel provided the music for dancing. Babbitt Ruby and Patty Durbin, college friends of the couple, served the cake. Also helping with the punch, rainbow colored mints, and tea sandwiches were Diann Schwab, Krissy Eisenhour and Krista Brumbaugh. The bride and bridegroom and 1983 graduates of Wawasee High School and are presently seniors at Butler University. Following a short wedding trip, the couple is at home at 4739 Sunset Avenue, Indianapolis. Ind., 47208.

Lori L. Parker and Gregory A. Barsoda were united in marriage on Sunday, Aug. 17, at 2:30 p.m., in a lawn wedding at the home of the bride’s parents. Rev. Ross Cook, Freemont United Methodist Church, officiated at the double-ring ceremony in the presence of 60 guests. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Strieby, Syracuse. Meals for Older Older Americans
Meals for Older Americans are served each day at the following locations: The Scout Cabin, Syracuse; the Pierceton Community Building; Mentone Community Room in the fire station; the Retired Tigers Center, 320 W. Main, Warsaw; and Packerton Community Building. Meals for Older Americans is for persons 60-years or older and is a chance to meet new friends and enjoy hot, nutritional meals. The sites are opened several hours each day including noon for programs. Meals for Older Americans is not associated with welfare but is for the promotion for better health for the older population. Donations are accepted for the meals. The site directors request all persons planning on attending the meals to make reservations by 1 p.m. the day prior to attending.
