Learn to dance The opportunity to learn to dance will be given at the Goshen YWCA Community Center (back of Holiday Inn.) Classes will start September 25 for 10 weeks. Experienced teachers, Jack Gaerte and his wife, Mary, of Wawaka will have the students dancing in one lesson. Fox trot, waltz, and Latin dances including rhumba, cha cha, samba, and tango will be included in the series. A taste of line dancing will be introduced as a warm up which requires no partner but each one lines up and a few simple steps ( are shown, usually “Alley Cat,” r which has been around for a long time but there are other equally fun routines. 1 ■ Dances at the YW in Goshen could go on all winter if enough music-loving people support it. Do something now NEW YORK — Delivering his farewell address before the American Bar Association, Chief Justice Warren E. Burger said recently hostility toward the legal profession has grown in the last decade, and, if attorneys don’t regulate themselves, the government will.

9 1 111 SUCCESSFUL TRAINER — Ralph Reiff, center, athletic trainer at Butler University for 14 sports, described his duties to Lakeland Kiwanis Club, North Webster, members at their meeting Monday, Sept. 8. Presenting Reiff with a certificate of appreciation for his address are president-elect Curtis. Jordan, right, and vice president Jack Maule. A graduate of Wawasee High School, Reiff has an undergraduate degree from Indiana Central College, known today as Indianapolis University. He received his graduate training at Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, and has served as athletic trainer at Butler University for six years. He described the job of athletic trainer as one who cares for, and prevents injuries to, athletes. The speaker pointed out that a competent athletic trainer can contribute a great deal to a high school or college, preventing minor injuries from becoming serious and treating major injuries. He realizes there is a drug problem among athletes, but feels that making colleges responsible for drug use is somewhat unfair. He stressed that athletes and all people must stand up for high moral standards and values arid take responsibility for their own actions. Reiff also listed five factors that help individuals perform well, including: 1— hard work, 2 — realistic goals. 3 — very appreciative attitude, 4 — seeing the entire picture, and 5 — good fundamental values.
