Fountainview Place in Elkhart following an extended illness. He was born on Feb. 25,1902, in Garrett to Edward M. and Emily (Geiger) Lentz. He married Mary Helen Potter in Nappanee on Sept. 4,1924. She survives. Lentz had graduated from Milford High School and went on to attend Goshen College. Graduating from Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis, he started his own dental practice in Nappanee in 1924, from which he retired in 1972. He was a member of the Nappanee United Methodist Church, a lifetime member of the Indiana Dental Association, a member and past president of the Kosciusko County Dental Society and the Nappanee Noon Kiwanis, a 50-year member of the Nappanee Lodge No. 566 F&AM, a member of RAM Chapter No. 155 in Nappanee, the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend, and the Mizpah Shrine in Fort Wayne.

RAYMOND CUSTER HOME AND IMPROVING Raymond Custer, r 1 box 54, Milford, returned home on the Fourth of July after having undergone triple by-pass open heart surgery and the replacement of the mitral valve on Friday, June 13. He is reportedly doing well and improving slowly. BEN KAISER IMPROVING AFTER SURGERY Ben Kaiser, r 1, Milford, underwent four bypass open heart surgery Monday, July 7, at South Bend Memorial Hospital. He is in satisfactory condition and is expected to be moved from intensive care today (Wednesday) to the seventh floor. Births SNYDER, Christy Elizabeth Mr. and Mrs. Paul (Belinda) Snyder, 107 W. hospitalized there since July 2. She was bora on May 14,1901, in Syracuse and married Oscar W. Master. After his death, she married Ernest B. Shrock on July 4,1938. He died on March 19,1968. Mrs. Shrock had been employed at the former Goshen Veneer for 20 years and also with Superior Coach. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. G. Burton (Mary Jean) Frederick of Goshen; a son, Lester L. Master of Goshen; nine grandchildren; 18 greatgrandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marjorie Master of Elkhart. One daughter, Juanita Higgins; a sister, Irene Garver; a brother, Harry Shaffer; and a greatgrandson, Douglas Master, preceded her in death. He was bora on Dec. 12,1906, in Warsaw to Elmore and Orpha (Scoles) Clay. A lifetime resident of the county, he married Cleo Parker in Silver Lake on Feb. 1, 1928. She preceded him in death on June 2,1983. Clay was a retired farmer and a member of the Winona Lake Presbyterian Church. Syracuse EMS The Syracuse Emergency Medical Service was called to the home of Harry Scribner, 40,730 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, at 4:35 p.m., Wednesday, July 2, after he had difficulty breathing. Scribner complained of pain when he took deep breaths after inhaling fumes from a blow torch. EMTs administered an oxygen mask and transported him to Whitley County Memorial Hospital. Barb Hull, 16, 19 Eastbrook, Neshua, N.H., was advised to report the incident to her doctor after she passed out for approximately three minutes at Pier 594, Syracuse. The EMS was dispatched at 2:32 p.m., Thursday, July 3. Mim Warner, 44, 957 W. Erie St., Chandler, Ariz., was transported to Goshen Hospital from r 1 box 54, Syracuse, after he complained of pain in the abdominal region at 4:25 a.m., Sunday, July 6. The EMS was called to 312 Medusa St., Syracuse, at 4:45 p.m., Sunday, July 6, to transport Derek Parsons, 2% months, 146 Cleveland Ave., Elkhart, to Goshen Hospital after he had trouble breathing. Geir Andreson, 21,605 Medows Blvd., Apt. ID, Addison, 111., was transported to Goshen Hospital after the EMS received a call at 8:28 p.m., Sunday, July 6. Andreson had been water skiing and complained of pain in the back of his neck. The patient was transported from 55 Elizebeth, Oakwood Park, Syracuse. The EMS was called to 613 Mullen St., at 2:42 a.m., Monday, July 7, where they found Dewey Baker, 62, with no vital signs. Kosciusko County Coroner Gary Eastlund was called and Baker was pronounced dead at 2:55 a.m. Nancy Dalton, 50, r 4 box 254, Syracuse, was transported to Goshen Hospital from Miller Realty, 1006 S. Huntington St., after complaining of chest pain and tingling in the lower arm and leg at 11:06 a.m., Tuesday, July 8.

Vistula St., Bristol, died at 4:05 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, at Elkhart Hospita . A native of Kosciusko County, she was marriet to Ford Neely on April 22,1911. H e preceded her in death on May 8,1947. She and her family lived in or near Milford for many years. Sie worked for a number of years in Fuller’s General Store, Milford. She is survived by three daughters, Grace Heeter, Mary Stutsman, and Mrs. Henry (Margie) Godshalk, all of Bristol; three grandchildren; 10 great-grandchiliren; and three great-great-gra dchildren. Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, June 28, at Stemm-Lawson Peterson Bristol Chapel. William D. Blitz Former Ww inw Resident William D. Blitz, 78, Bradenton, Fla., and former Warsaw resident, died in a Bradenton hospital on Sati rday, July 5. He was bora on June 16,1908, in Kosciusko County to John and Mary (Willard) Blitz and married Mabelle Moore. She survives. Living most of his life in Warsaw, Blitz moved to Bradenton in 1980, where he was employed at the Navy Yanis. Before moving, he was a retired employee of the former Litchfield Creamery in Warsaw. He was a mmber of the Dutchtown Brethren Church and was a veteran of the US Marines. Additional survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth (Betty) Finlej of Nevada, and Mrs. Mary (Etta) Sumpter of Bradenton; one son, William Blitz of California; two sisters, Bertha Stuckrian of Syracuse, and Velma Shively of Warsaw. Gwendolyn M. Dietrich Sister Os Syracuse Women A memorial service will be held this evening (Wednesday) at 7:30 p.m. in Harris Funeral Home, SR 13S, Syracuse, for Gwendolyn M. Dietrich, 72, Lancaster, Calif., formerly of Wilmot. Mrs. Dietrich, sister of Donna Kline, Syracuse, died June 23 in California following an extended illness. She was bora in Whitley County on January 19, 1914. In 1943 she moved to California where she was employed as a secretary. In 1944 she married Gene Dietrich who survives. Also surviving are two additional sisters, Maxine Dietrich, Bradenton, Fla., and Peg Rood, Pierceton; and three brothers, Bernard and Jack Beezley, Pierceton, and Thad Beezley, Warsaw. Rev. David Maish will officiate at the service. The body has been cremated. William N. McGill Retired From Highway Department William Henry McGill, 85, Millersburg, father of Vernon Leroy McGill, Syracuse, died at 9:35 p.m. Monday, July 7, at Fountainview Place, Elkhart, where he was admitted November 9,1978. He was bora on September 17, 1900, in Odell, 111. On December 28,1922, he married Velma Hazel Sharp. She died on March 19, 1966. On May 4, 1968, he married Louise Ott. She preceded him in death in May 1985. In 1966 McGill retired from the Elkhart County High Department after 39 years, the last nine years as superintendent. He was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ, Millersburg. Additional survivors are two other sons, Bobbie, Goshen, and William Wayne, Longmont, Colo.; two stepsons, Larry Ott,
