• WAWASEE FOOTBALL CAMP — Myron Dickerson, Wawasee Head Football Coach, works with some of the 21 seventh- and eighth-grade football players who turned out for the Wawasee Summer Football Camp. The two-week camp is being run by Dickerson and members of his coaching staff. The first week the campers concentrated on offense and this week the emphasis was on defense. The camp ends this Friday. TRI-SCHOOL CHAMPS — The Syracuse Sixth Grade girl’s track team took first place in the Trischool track meet, scoring 59 points to top Milford’s 47 and North Webster’s 20. Lady Yellowjackets win
The Syracuse Sixth Grade Lady Yellowjackets brought home a victory title after winning the Tri-school Track Meet. The Jackets ran up 59 points defeating the Milford Trojans who scored 47 points and the North Webster Trojans who scored 20 points. Syracuse finished first with seven first places, four second places, five third places, and four fourth places.

A few Jackets held first place titles in their events all through the season. Those that went undefeated were Kim Harter in the long jump and the 100 meter dash, Amber James in the shot put, Stephanie Skelton in the high jump, 80 meter hurdles and 60 meter dash, the 400 meter relay team of Kim Harter, Julie Hodgson, Sherrena Kirkwood and Stephanie Skelton.

SLOW PITCH ON THE WAY— Jerry Bushong was in control last Saturday as he pitched the old-timers to a victory (no one was quite sure of the score) over a team of young volunteers in the old-timers softball game at Milford School last Saturday. The game lasted several innings until the players caught the aroma of pork chops cooking at the fire station.

Mrs. Jack (Cindy) Simpson. Mrs. Charles (Dixie) Fink. Mrs. Eugene (Corky) Whitacre. Mrs. Paul (Lilly) Hawn and Mrs. Kenneth (Kathryn) Knisley, left May 30 from South Bend for Ontario. Calif., to participate in the WIBC National Tournament on June 1. The women remained in Ontario following the tournament sightseeing. They returned to the area on June 6. Mrs. Hawn spent the week with her son’s family in Riverside. Her son George is presently stationed in Japan. The remainder of the group was in the home of Mrs. Knisley’s sister, Mrs. William (Wanda) Patrick and family, in Corona. Calif. Patrick took the ladies to many places of interest, including Mann’s Chinese Theater,
