Robert E. Nelson Robert C. Nelson, 69, r 1, Warsaw, died following a extended illness at 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 28, in the Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne. He was born on Jan. 27,1917, in Muncie to Hoile and Lula (Jones) Nelson. He married Carrie Wilson on Dec. 18, 1943. She survives. Before moving to this area in 1979, Nelson had lived in Bluffton and had retired from the Wells County Health Department as a sanitarian. He had also served in that same position in Muncie for several years previously. Masonic and memorial services were held on Friday, May 30, at 3 p.m. in Harris Funeral Home in Syracuse. Ross Boney Owned Metal Company Ross Baney, 87, Etna Green, died in the Mayflower Nursing Home in Plymouth at 10 a.m. on Sunday, June 1, following a oneyear illness.

She received emergency room treatment and was later released. She weighed seven pounds, 12 ounces and measured 22 inches long. Johana Marie has one brother, Ross, three years. Maternal grandparents are John and Dorothy Martin of Milford and paternal grandparents are Karl and Harriet Blaettner of Florida. SCHANG, Kyle Taylor Mr. and Mrs. Eric (Shirley) Schang, 225-1 North Street, Syracuse, are the parents of a son, Kyle Taylor, boro on Friday, May 30, at 1:30 p.m. in the Goshen Hospital. He weighed eight pounds, 11% ounces and measured 19% inches long. Kyle Taylor is the Schangs’ first child. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Paul Acker of Chesterfield and Bob Wood of Anderson. He was boro on Feb. 2, 1899, in Gilead to Kelsey and Tressie (Shamp) Baney. In 1919 he married Florence Matheny. She died in 1969. He married Lulu Miller in 1969 and she died in 1972. In 1974 he married Clara Metzgar, who survives. Baney, who had lived in Etna Green, Mentone and Atwood, was a member of the Etna Green Church of Christ. From 1939 until 1982 he owned and operated the Baney Sheet Metal Co. in Atwood. Additional survivors include two sons, Marion Baney of North Webster, and Deverl Baney of Atwood; three daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Sutherlin and Mrs. Raymond (Velma) Taylor, both of Warsaw, and Mrs. Art (Elizabeth) Snyder of Graham, N.C.; 12 grandchildren; 23 greatgrandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; three step-

He suffered abrasions and swelling to the foot. His parents were advised to take him to a doctor or emergency room for further attention. Barb Gutermuth, 56,736 Riverside Dr., Elkhart, was taken to Goshen Hospital, Friday, after becoming ill. The EMS was called to Pier 702 Lake Wawasee at 5:42 p.m. Hilda Seiffert, 76, P.O. Box 236 Syracuse, was taken to Goshen Hospital Saturday, May 31, after she became ill. The EMS was called to her home at 10:12 a.m. Robert Hogan, 1%, r 3 box 465 Syracuse, was brought to the fire station at 5:27 p.m. Sunday, June 1, after falling on concrete and striking his head. His mother was advised to take him to the emergency room or to a doctor’s office as soon as possible. The EMS was called to a moped/car accident at 5:41 p.m. Monday, June 2, at the bridge on Pickwick Road, at the Shrimp Boat. Semen A. Sielesnew, 72. r 4 box 94 Syracuse, was taken to Goshen Hospital with a one-inch laceration on the forehead; an apparent fracture of the left thigh, leg and knee; a four-inch laceration to he left thigh; and a three-inch abrasion to the right calf. Eugene E. Smart, 58, r 2 box 109 North Webster, was taken to Goshen Hospital Tuesday, June 3. The EMS was called to Riblet Corporation, SR 13N Syracuse, at 9:39 a.m. after Smart struck the top of his head on a trailer frame. He suffered an abrasion to the top of the head. Jan Perzanowski, 41, r 3 box 552 Syracuse, was taken to Goshen Hospital this morning (Wednesday) after falling and twisting her ankle. Wednesday morning, May 28, in Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. Boro in Delaware County, Casper had moved to Barbee Lake in the 1940 s and opened the Jot-Em-Down Store, which was in operation until he moved back to Muncie in 1968. Before moving to Barbee Lake, Nelson graduated from Gaston High School and had worked in the 1930 s at Banner-Whitehall Furniture Store and Ball Stores. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Martha Gibson; a daughter, Eleanor Ellis of Fort Wayne; two sisters, Halcyon Casper of Lake Mohee, and Golda Bushor of Tucson, Ariz.; two grandsons; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Services were held on Friday, May 30, at 2:30 p.m. in Gardens of Memory Mausoleum in Muncie. Parson Mortuary of Muncie was in charge of arrangements.

Semen A. Sielesnew, r 4 Syracuse, is listed in serious condition in the intensive care unit at Goshen General Hospital, suffering possible fractures to his leg, thigh and knee, and cuts about his forehead. He was injured late Monday afternoon when his moped malfunctioned and he was pushing it across the channel bridge on Pickwick Road. He was

struck by a car driven by Michael R. Foreman, 20, r 2 Pierceton. He was taken to the Goshen Hospital in the Syracuse EMS where he remains. The 72-year-old Syracuse resident is a native of Germany and is well known in the Syracuse community as an expert auto mechanic. He suffered the loss of one arm in an accident years ago.
