to get that belt from me, but he can’tdoit.” Costello will get another chance. This time, it will be at the Milford Junior High School gym. The event starts at 8 p.m., but other matches are slated as well. This bout is tabbed as “The Main Event.” “Everyone wants the belt,” said Golden. “The belt means nothing to me,” answered Costello. “I just want to hurt him badly.”
Sounds like these two heavyweights mean business. They will tend to it any way possible. Be prepared, fans. “The last time I wrestled Costello, I proved to everyone that he was a whimp,” boasted the mat king, who is affiliated with the International Wrestling Organization. “He was actually screaming for his mommy. He was going, ‘Mommy, mommy, please help me. Please, please help me?” What strategy will Costello use? “I’ll win any way I can,” he said. “I’ll throw chairs, whatever it takes.” “I’ll match you object for object,” Golden responded. “Remember, I had your mommy on her knees.” A native of Plymouth, Golden has been in the professional wrestling circuit for 15 years. Costello, from Mishawaka, has wrestled four years. “I brought Costello into all of this,” said Golden. “And he’s been after my belt, chasing me all over the place. But he’s wasting his time.” “I’ll do my talking in the ring,” promised Costello. Golden, a crafty old veteran of the ring, claims nation and worldwide wrestling exposure. He has been on television many times, including Channel 55 of Fort Wayne. “Golden’s overweight. Look at him,” said Costello. “He talks big, then runs and hides from me.” “Yeah, I don’t work out, but I can still beat you,” answered Golden. “Costello thinks he’s real tough because he works out and sweats a lot. One time, he lifted 12 pounds. I was real proud of him.” “I have no comment to that,” said Costello. “I’ll just bust him up.” Both have their favorite techniques. Golden uses the backbreaker. “I love using it,” he said. “Especially while I’m looking at his face, which is in immense pain. I like to listen to bones crack.” Costello uses the figure four leg lock. “The Rebel” vs. “The Terrible Termite” John “The Rebel” McCarty, who is slated for a match against Dale “The Terrible Termite” Bolinger, had some words for his opponent. “If ‘The Terrible Termite’ is so terrible, why didn’t he show up for this interview,” asked “The Rebel.” “That shows how tough he is. I’m going to tear him up.” However, “The Terrible Termite” did issue a written statement about the upcoming tilt. It said: “I would like to take the opportunity to thank my tag team partner, Sgt. Bobby Golden. He has helped me into the pro wrestling circuit. With his guidance, I have learned how to survive. With my ability, I will learn how to conquer. I am sure the people of the Milford Community will not be disappointed when the Terrible Termite steps back in the ring to dismantle the Rebel; and may the South learn. The North will be triumphant again. I hope (Milford Marshal David) Hobbs is up to the task of controlling this battle.” “I hope Hobbs has a big enough stretcher to carry Costello away,” added Golden. “He’s going to need it after I get done with that slob.”

Warriors whip Central Noble 11-6
ALBION - Chris Yoder, Scott Bako* and Dave Kistler each had two hits, leading a potent Wawasee offense to an 11-6 baseball win at Central Noble Tuesday night. The Warriors, now 10-18 for the season, pushed across five runs in the top of the first inning and had a IGO lead after three innings. Coach Scott Siler then pulled many of the starters to give his non-regulars a chance to play. Baker, Kistler and Kent Enyeart each batted in two runs and Todd Roberts (4-6) pitched the distance for the win. Roberts had good control, striking out five and walking one. Wawasee travels to Whitko Thursday and will begin sectional play at Goshen Monday. The Warriors will face the host Redskins at 4:30 p.m., who recently won the Northern Lakes Conference. Siler vs Siler Last Saturday, Dick Siler, Scott’s father, brought his Elkhart Memorial team into Syracuse to play Wawasee. Classified in the 158-pound bracket, Brad was selected as the nation’s third best. The weight class was described as “loaded with talent” and boasted the “most quality.” Picked ahead of Brad were Dan Russell of Oregon, who had an overall record of 95-0 in high school. Russell was a four-time state champion and collected 84 total pins; and, Derek Fix of Colorado, who went 108-1 in his career. Fix won 84 consecutive matches.
