Dewart Lake Marina offers a full line of boats
Dewart Take is one of the many fun aquatic spots in the Lakeland area where fishermen and recreational boaters can enjoy their sports. For over 20 years Dewart Marina has provided services and supplies for those who enjoy lake activities. The marina, owned by Len and Evon Foyle, is located on CR 300E between CR 900 N and CR 1000 N. It is the only marina on beautiful Dewart Lake and has sales, service, pier rental and inside and outside boat storage. The Foyles sell Rinkerbuilt boats, Riviera Cruiser pontoon boats and Sylvan pontoon and deck boats. They also have a selection of used boats and handle Johnson outboard motors; OMC stem drives, including the new Cobra model and Mercruiser stem drives. Dewart Lake Marina employes a full-time mechanic who is available all year long. Boaters will be able to find a complete line of parts and accessories at the marina.
Teghtmeyer Ace Hardware is expanding to meet customers' needs
Recognizing the customers’ needs is a goal every business has. Meeting that goal is a different matter. And that’s what Teghtmeyer Ace Hardware is presently concerned about. “During the last couple of years, we’ve tried to recognize the customer’s right to save money,” said Larry Teghtmeyer, who has stores in Syracuse and North Webster. “So we’ve been emphasizing a more promotional oriented program by reducing prices on hundreds of items on an everyday basis.” Ace Hardware has many items. Main staples include paint, keys, electrical, plumbing and tools. “These are the product areas we capitalize on,” said Teghtmeyer. For the last three summers, Ace has established a nursery, making trees, plants,

which sells gas for automobiles as well as for boats. Sport fisherman will find supplies to meet their needs for winter or summer fishing at the marina. In addition to selling bait and fishing equipment the Foyles have Coleman lanterns and parts. The marina also has equipment for the needs of other sportsmen. For snowmobilers they have Moto Siu snowmobile parts and for those interested in water skiing there is a large variety of equipment available. Dewart Lake Marina is currently open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday. Dewart Lake, south and slightly west of Syracuse, is 550 acres in size and does not have the Indiana small lake 10 mph speed limit for boats. Mrs. Foyle relates that the lake has very good spring and fall fishing and fishermen catch northern pike, walleye pike, bass, bluegills and perch.
shrubs and building materials available for landscaping needs. Area demands are also met since Ace provides pier posts. However, Teghtmeyer would like to expand into the rental service aspect. So, the North Webster store will feature “what consumers might need for a day.” Anything from shears to houseware appliances can be rented. “We’ve been growing at a better than average pace,” said Teghtmeyer. “That’s why we’re moving the North Webster store to another place in town. We need more space for better parking. We want to make it more convenient for the customers to shop here.” Teghtmeyer Ace Hardware first opened its doors at North Webster in 1944. The Syracuse store was opened in 1978. As of now, business traffic is similar at both places.
