Vintage Printing is offering new services to customers
Vintage Printing, located on SR 13 in Syracuse, was founded in 1980 as a threeway partnership associated with another printing service. In its infancy, the printing business mainly operated as a “quick printingservice.” In 1982, Tim Ringler bought out his partners and became the sole proprietor of the printing company. Since his ownership, many changes have occurred at Vintage Printing. It is now able to offer a broader range of capabilities including photooffset, letter press, direct mailings, and computer list maintenance. Soon, Vintage Printing will be able to offer darkroom services. Previously, Ringler had to contract his darkroom work out, which lengthened the processing time on each job. Using his own darkroom, Ringler said that he will be able to cut the processing time considerably by being able to handle negatives, PMTs, and transparencies. The darkroom addition is part of a remodeling project which began in January of 1985 when Vintage Printing purchased the building it had been leasing. The project is slated to be finished by mid-February of this year. One area which has shown a dramatic in-
49 churches serve the area
Residents in and visitors to the northern Kosciusko County lakes area have churches of many denominations they can choose to attend for Sunday worship. The Lakeland church directory in The Mail-Journal each week has 49 churches listed with service times and pastors’ names. Three of these have been newly listed since 1984. These are Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Syracuse , Filadelfia Evangelical Spanish Assembly of God in Milford and Northern Lakes Christian Center in North Webster. All of the Lakeland area churches welcome visitors to their Sunday services and to any special services during the week. The mission of all is to help spread the Gospel to people who have no church home. Boat-in services sponsored by the Syracuse-Wawasee Ministerial Association are held on Wawasee Lake at Oakwood Park on summer Sunday mornings. Summer boat-in services were also begun in 1985 at Quaker Haven Friends Church on Dewart Lake. These services attract boaters and shoreside worshipers to combine a meaningful Christian experience with the beauty of the lakes in summer. The following churches are located in the greater Lakeland area: Syracuse-Lake Wawasee Area Wawasee Lakeside Chapel, Harlan Steffen, pastor Syracuse United Pentecostal Church, Ronald G. crease is Vintage Printing’s typesetting service. Originally, it had begun as a sideline of the business known as VIN.COM. Now, it is simply referred to as part of Vintage Printing’s typesetting service. This computer typesetting operation has allowed Ringler to input data from a customer’s disk directly into his system, even though the systems may be different. It is a service which wholesalers, other printers, businesses and colleges are taking advantage of for its speed and accuracy in workmanship. Ringler feels that, in all likelihood, this computer service can cut manual typesetting timeip half. In addition to the computer typesetting, Vintage Printing also offers: a quick print line which makes reproductions while the customer waits; layout facilities offering composing forms and artwork for jobs; commercial printing for business ensembles; a letter press for diecut folders, numbering and imprinting; and bindery services. One edge that Vintage Printing has over other area printers, which is creating strong interest, is its newly hired personnel to accommodate customer’s requests for creative artwork and layout.
