MINI-INDUSTRIAL PARK — Sellers Mfg., Inc., located on Old SR 15N, Milford, continues in its efforts to diversify and expand. The company has facelifted its current facilities in the past year and will continue to improve appearances to the 27-acre lot.
Sellers Mfg., Inc. has diversification
With 14 years in the Milford community and 22 years experience, Sellers Mfg., Inc., is an established steel fabricator, stressing financial stability, quality production and conscientious customer services. All of these factors have played a role in keeping the company on track during the economic uncertainty of years past, but according to owner Howard Sellers, the real protection against the economy has been the company’s diversification. Sellers Manufacturing, located on Old SR 15N, has three divisions all with their own functions, products and product components. Sellers divisions include the bulk feed bodies division, added to the company in the last few months. The Sellers Overhead Auger Bulk Unit features a variety in sizes and equipment with feed and fertilizer bodies available as well as bucket elevators, vertical storage bins, undercar rail unloading augers and portable storage magazines. Other divisions include precision stamping and metal fabricating, which concentrate on industrial equipment and RV parts. The company offers fabrication services in the following areas: sheet and plate work-

ing, structural and tubing and welding. They also handle stainless, galvanized, grating, expanded and perforated steel. Finally, the truck/equipment division has among its operations the stretching of chassis. Raw chassis are brought into the facility, cut into two parts, pieces are inserted between the two parts to add length to the chassis and the parts are then rejoined. Among the products which Sellers Manufacturing produces are: industrial air pollution control devices; machinery bases; air compressor chassis; non-motorized material handling equipment, including racks, cabinets, and workbenches, and the new bulk feed bodies. Sellers’ plans for the future include the beginnings of what hft terms a “miniindustrial park,” situated on 27 acres, and with a beginning in 1962, 1986 will bring plans for a silver anniversary celebration to be held the following year. * ‘The year 1985 was a good year and we expect 1986 to be even more prosperous,” Sellers said. With the company’s ability to diversify there’s little doubt to the authenticity of Sellers’ words.

Schrock opened the firm in North Webster in 1975 and was once a branch of the lowa based Pacemaker Buildings. Today, Pacemaker is no longer affiliated with the lowa company and operates independently to serve the area, basically the northern third of the state. The firm employs approximately 20 people and Schrock stated that he recently added another salesperson to his work force which should increase sales considerably in 1986. “We are small enough to give good service and still be competitive,” Schrock said. Pacemaker has put quality and service first since its beginning in 1975. “The farm market used to make up a large share of the business but the past couple of years the picture has changed and the
