Tippecanoe Boat Company, located on the northeast side of Lake Tippecanoe, offers its customers a full line of retail sales, excellent servicing, and boat storage. Open all year, winter hours are from 8 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. every day except Sunday. Summer hours are from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m., seven days a week. Situated in a harbor, Tippecanoe Boat Company and its docking facilities are all located away from the lake and out of the wind for safe mooring. They have the capacity to store over 200 boats. Thirtythree covered docking spaces and 10 open summer docks are available at the facility. A new boat storage facility was built in 1983 to keep pace with business growth. People are more interested than ever in leisure time activities. “Actually, business has been on an upsurge the last couple of years because people are in search of good value and we have one of the very best lines in the Rinker Boat. The Rinker Boat seems to be the best selling boat because the quality is excellent in addition to being an exceptional value, plus it is made locally and that eliminates expensive freight and shipping costs,” Pierce related. “Sales volume in the winter months has increased considerably over the last three years and people start much earlier in the spring purchasing their boating needs than what they used to do. Sales, too, are changing in the fact that they are not all local as they used to be. Some of our customers now are coming from Ohio, Michigan, and Illinois, as well as other areas in Indiana.” Servicing is handled by certified Mercury
