Professional communications services at image Group
The Image Group in Syracuse is a communications management firm servicing clients with a full range of communications services. The company serves clients with excellent quality one to four color printing, graphic design, advertising, marketing, public relations, audio-visuals and advertising specialties. With the Image Group, clients save time and money by working with one account team for all their communications needs instead of numerous outside suppliers, therefore, avoiding multiple mark-ups. The result is a consistent and effective communications program. The firm changed its name in 1984 to reflect the full range of communications services now offered by the company. “Business was great in 1965 and will be even better in 1986,” stated Jerry Ganshom, vice president and co-owner. “I feel very positive about the future. I think the business is going to be more graphicsoriented because of the advent of the office copier and computer graphics. We provide a higher level of professional communications services to meet the increasingly sophisticated needs of our clients.” In 1985, the company installed two new high speed Heidelberg presses capable of high quality four color printing and up to 10,000 impressions per hour. Farm Bureau Insurance is a multi-line company
Since moving to Syracuse in 1972, Farm Bureau Insurance, a multi-line Indiana Insurance company, has offered its clients quality service for a variety of needs. Syracuse proves to be a practical location for the agency since many of its clients are within a 20-25 mile radius. The office picks up a big share of northeastern Kosciusko County clients, and there is at least one Farm Bureau Insurance office in every county throughout the state. Operating form a recently built office facility (in 1983), the agency keeps growing. For the last 11 years, Farm Bureau agents have been using computers as well as a
customers’ printing needs faster while maintaining high quality. The company also began its move towards totally computerized operations. Job quotes, order entry, job costing and inventory tracking functions will soon be handled on computer which will provide greater accuracy, faster service, detailed record keeping and reduction of paper work for a more efficient operation. The forerunner of the Image Group, Ganshom Printing, was founded in 1969 when Ganshorn, a former graphic arts teacher, bought the printing operations of the former Wawasee Journal and began a small print shop. In 1976, Ganshom went into partnership with James E. Plumihier, Sr. to form Ganshorn-Plummer, Inc. soon expanded to include advertising and design services. The firm changed its name in 1984 to reflect the full range of communications services now offered by the company. As a full service agency, the Image Group handles creation and production of print and broadcast ads, media placement, marketing, market research, public relations, audio-visual presentations and art services. “We’re particularly excited about our advertising specialties division. Whether you need fine executive gifts to mass giveaway items, the Image Group is the source for a wide variety of advertising specialties and premiums. We also offer a full line of wearables including imprinted jackets, Tshirts, caps, casual shirts and sweaters,” said Ganshom. The Image Group employs 23 persons. Its production plant and administrative offices are located on SR 13, south in Wawasee Village. The Image Group Creative Center handles design, copywriting, media placement and advertising operations.

Office personnel includes Career Agent Harley Chalk, with 10 years of experience; Rick Graff, who is completing his first year at the office; and Secretary Sally Shivley. Farm Bureau Insurance started in Kosciusko by renting space in the Farm Bureau Co-op building in Warsaw. An office facility was built on Center Street and further growth spurred another branch office at CR2OON and US 30. The Syracuse office is located on SR 13 and Bowser Road.
