Mrs. Josephine Schloss has lived in Ugonier most of her life and is glad to “be home” at Kenney Healthcare Center in Ugonier. “Mom wanted to come home to Ugonier. She was at a nursing home in Fort Wayne,” explained her son. Robert Schloss, M.D., of Fort Wayne. When Kenney Healthcare Center opened its doors, Mrs. Schloss was one of our first residents. “It's important to me knowing Mom is home, and people who are Interested can visit her,” stated Dr. Schloss, a family physician for 30 years. “I think Kenney does a good job of medical overview and pretty well know what Mom can do. They encourage her to be as active and independent as she can. I feel the Fort Wayne facility was too understaffed to do this. The staff at Kenney is good, and the skilled nursing care they provide is important to me as a physician.” Kenney is the area’s newest and finest healthcare center, licensed to provide skilled and intermediate nursing care. This means we can serve the short and long term needs of all our residents as well as provide a warm, personalized assisted living environment. During our Welcome Program. Kenney Healthcare Center is offering the first week’s stay free of charge as a special “welcome” to new residents. For more information. send in the coupon below or call collect 894-7131 today.

with the farmers, Dieterly will help them build their ponds and make sure that the ponds are being maintained properly during her two years there. One of her primary goals will be to educate these farmers on the full spectrum of back yard fish ponds so that they will be able to maintain them once she is gone. She will spend her first several months in the Philippines learning the language of the village she will be working in, so that the language barrier between the two won’t be so vast. After returning home, She hopes to become a biologist. While at Ball State University, she majored in biology, journalism, and photography; and minored in natural resources. Friends may write to her at the following address: Diane Dieterly, U.S. Peace Corps, P.O. Box 7013, Manila, Philippines 3120. Entrenched A federal commission told President Reagan recently that organized crime is entrenched in the U.S. marketplace and that federal law enforcement efforts are fragmented and inadequate to stem the tide.

LOUISA'S LETTER ihlj) : ijrff
Dear Louisa, My sister’s husband is a politician and he is doing quite well. He was first in the legislature and now he is thinking of a higher office. All of us like him very much but the is only one thing that worries us. You know I am sure how all of the candidates try to get something deragatory on the other fellow. Well Jim — that is not his real name — will prog around until he digs up something he thinks is shady and he repeats it so much that be gets to thinking it is really true and much worse than it really is. And he doesn’t stop there — he thinks that all the family should join him in villifying these people. Well, I am not going to do that whether he thinks I am failing him or not. In the first place half of the things he tells are just hearsay and I don’t know

whether they are true or not. J.F. — Mass. Answer: I think that a family should stick together and help one another in their efforts for advancement. But this doesn’t mean that you should take on all of their enemies and battles. So often the very people who run against each other get to be very good friends afterward. And even though some of the things your brother-in-law finds out may be true, the best thing to do is to stay out of it. The old adage “the least said is easiest mended” is a good one and it is not Christian to hate people. The persons who hate others and who harbor resentment destroy themselves and usually lead very unhappy lives. Louisa Address: Louisa, Box 532, Orangeburg, S.C. 29115
