It happened ... in Milford

It YEARS AGO. JAN. 14. ItTC The old hotel building, located in the main business block in Milford, stands in ruins this mor* ning, beyond the hope of repair. The old landmark fell the victim of an early morning fire, which appeared to have started in the basement of the building. The location of the fire made it more difficult to extinguish. The meeting will be held in the fire station at 7 p.m. Dr. T.A. Miller was re-elected president of the Milford town board by new board members Jean Treesh and James Brooks in the board’s first stated meeting of the year Monday night. The large snowman, built by youngsters in froht of Milford’s town hall following Tuesday’s big snowstorm appeared to be wanting to escape the heat from the fire that gutted the old Milford hotel. Town Attorney Rex Reed’s charming two-year-old daughter delighted everyone as she attended a portion of the Milford town board meeting Monday night. Rev. Phillip Philbrook of Fort Wayne will be the featured speaker at the annual MAD Council’s Citizen of the Year banquet.
