New officers were installed during a candlelight ceremony held January 5 by members of North Webster Fireman’s Auxiliary. Virginia Spry was the installing officer. Julia Galloway is the retiring president. Karen Leinsetter, the new president, was in charge of the business session. Members of Charm ’N Chatter home extension club met January 5 in the home of Alice Locke. Carol Richey assisted the hostess. The cultural arts reports was given by Mrs. Art Osborn. , Barbee Ladies Christian Service members met January 3 in the church. The meeting opened with group singing. Mrs. Don Watson, newly elected president,
was in charge of the meeting. 20 YEARS AGO, JAN. 12,1966 Mr. and Mrs. John D. Shidler of Grand Rapids, Mich., spent the Christmas holidays with Mrs. Shidler’s sister, Mrs. Richard Baker and family. A week ago last Tuesday Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Shidler and family of Milwaukee, Wis., spent the day with the Bakers. Mrs. Baker is an aunt of the Shidlers. They were returning home from Fort Wayne where they had spent the holidays with Mrs. Shidler’s parents, Dr. and Mrs. Russell Havens. Rick Baker and Ken Shidler enjoyed discussing guns and a prize winning sword fish Ken captured and had mounted while vacationing in Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Pifer and family visited with Mr. and Mrs. Glen Vanator Friday night. Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Krouse spent the day Wednesday in Fort Wayne visiting relatives and friends. Mrs. Ermal Vanator and Mrs. Raymond Ferguson of North Webster and Mrs. Melvin Wheeler of Etna were guests of Mrs. Gladys Winebrenner at a euchre luncheon last Wednesday. 50 YEARS AGO, JAN. 16,1935 Royal Kline and wife took dinner Monday at the J.
