Harold Sharp Father Off Milford Woman Harold W. (Bill) Sharp, 50,1308 Fulton St., Elkhart, father of Mrs. Bruce (Crystal) Smith, Milford, died at 8:19 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, in Elkhart Hospital. He was hospitalized Thursday, Nov. 21. Sharp was born on May 21, 1935, in Gravelton. He retired in 1972 following 20 years with the U.S. Army where he served as a Staff Sergeant and served in the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam war. He was a member of the Nappanee American Legion, Post 154 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 6638, Nappanee. In addition to his daughter, other survivors include two sons, Curtis Sharp, stationed in Tennessee with the U.S. Marines, and Cass Sharp, Nappanee; one other daughter, Colleen Sharp, Nappanee; four grandchildren; his mother and stepfather, Wayne and Gladys Moneyheffer, Venice,

Memorials may be directed to the donor’s choice. Faith Hartshorne Area Resident Since May Faith Hartshorne, 84,157 North Shore Dr., Syracuse, died at 10:07 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, in Goshen Hospital. She was born in Troy, Ohio, on October 19, 1901, to Wallace and Ada (Moltz) Melsheimer. On April 17,1927, she married James D. Hartshorne. He survives.

Mrs. Hartshorne moved to Syracuse in May from Ohio. She was a homemaker and a member of a Presbyterian Church in Cleveland, Ohio, and a member of the Ohio African Violet Society and Ohio State University Alumni Association. In addition to her husband, other survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Doyle (Josephine) Butler, Syracuse; Mrs. David (Ada Jean) Hautzenroeder, Los Angeles, Calif., and Mrs. Robert (Barbara) Legg, New Llano, La; 16 grandchildren; and 14 greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, David O. Hartshorne. i Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today (Wednesday) in Harris Funeral Home, SR 13S, Syracuse. Rev. Syracuse ’ EMS Syracuse Emergency Medical Service was called to a personal injury accident at 1:40 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22. Beatrice Eppert, 50, r 1 box 24 Syracuse, was transported to Goshen Hospital with a laceration on her forehead and pain to her upper left arm, shoulder and left ankle. Lyle Torrence, 11545 Edison Road, Osceola, came to the fire station at 12:58 p.m. Monday, Nov. 25, after suffering a puncture to the lower lip. The wound was treated and he was advised to see a doctor if any infection or inflammation occurs. The EMS was called to Syracuse Case at 12:14 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, when Margaret Nichols, 72, 426 Medusa St., Syracuse, became ill. Her doctor was called to meet the ambulance at the scene and he advised her to come in later that day. Ron Rinehart, 44, r 2 box 392 lot 2C Syracuse, was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital Tuesday after becoming ill. The EMS was called at 4:35 p.m. to his home. Basil .Bonner, 16, Leesburg, was brought to the fire station at 10:08 p.m. Tuesday, after falling at the high school and suffering a laceration to his forearm. The in-

Janes Hall Syracuse Resident James L. Hall, 60, 130 West Boston St., Syracuse, died at 8:50 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 26, in Goshen Hospital following an illness with cancer. He was born on July 8,1925, in Falmouth, Ky., to Benjamin and Stella (Fardo) Hall. On April 10, 1977, he married Arlene Hochstetler. She survives. Hall moved to Syracuse six years ago from Nappanee and was a member of the Syracuse American Legion and a veteran of World War 11. Additional survivors include three daughters, Esther Cheney, Grand Rapids, Minn., Jackie Miller and Angelia Hall, both of Indianapolis; four sons, Jonathon L. Investigation of thefts continue Syracuse Police are continuing their investigation into a number of thefts which occurred over the weekend. Ray Skelton, 424 Parkway Dr., Syracuse, reported at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, the theft of two speakers and two tapes taken from his auto after midnight. The speakers and tapes were valued ats2l6. Anna Sparduto, 200 N. Huntington Street, Syracuse, reported the theft of four speakers and 10 tapes from her auto. The report was made at 10:48 a.m. Saturday. The value of the items was estimated at $395. Tom Hutchings, 606 Sigby Place, Syracuse, reported the theft of tools and tool box from his pickup truck at 10:16 a.m. Satyr- . day. He told police he last saw the > tools in his truck at approximately 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22. The tools and tool box were valued at S3OO. Felons and guns WASHINGTON - Only about one in five convicted felons surveyed by the government said they obtained their guns through legitimate channels but stole their guns or got them from relatives or friends, the department’s National Institute of Justice said recently.

Payne, 76, 56803 CR IS Elkhart, a native of Syracuse, died at 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, in her home. She was born in Syracuse on December 12, 1908. She married Henley W. Payne on April 4,1928. He survives. Mrs. Payne retired in 1973 from Durakool Corporation after being employed there for 28 years. Additional survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Ronald W. (LaVerna J.) Grose, Elkhart; one son, Earlynn S. Payne, Clearwater, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Nov. 26, at 1 p.m., in the Walley-Mills-Zimmerman Funeral Home, Elkhart. Rev. Charles R. Lane, pastor of Dunlap United Methodist Church, officiated and burial was in Rice cemetery. Frank Ridenoure Memorial Service Memorial services for Frank E. Ridenoure, formerly of 92 N. Shore Dr., Syracuse, and Goshen, who died September 24 in Nashville, Tenn., will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1. at the Rieth, Rohrer and Ehret Funeral Home in Goshen. Ridenoure was a long-time employee of the Salem Bank and Trust Co., where he retired as senior vice president. Officiating at the memorial service will be Rev. Andrew Hardy. Antonides, 78, 1206 Laurel St., Elkhart, died Thursday, Nov. 21, at 12:15 a.m. in Meridian Nursing Center where he had been a patient for two weeks. Antonides was born in LaGrange County on October 2, 1907. He married Helen J. Miller on November 7,1952. Retired from the engineering department of Elkhart Hospital, he was a member of First Congregational Church, served as past chancelor of the Knights of Pythians Lodge 144, was a member of the United Commercial Traveler’s organization, serving as senior counselor in the organization for the Elkhart council, and was a committeeman for the Cub Scouts. Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Shirley Stansbury, Sturgis, Mich.; one stepson, Richard P. Miller, Elkhart; 15 grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren; one brother, Claude, Goshen; and one sister, Marguerite Black, North Webster. He was preceded in death by one son, Doyle, and three brothers. Services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 23, at HartzlerGutermuth Funeral Home, Elkhart, with Rev. Robert Bottoms officiating. Entombment was in the Chapel of Memories Mausoleum in Rice Cemetery, Elkhart. ' Owen R. Strieby Retired Electrician Owen R. Strieby, 81, Wauchula, Fla., formerly of Syracuse, died Monday, Nov. 18, in a Florida hospital. He was born in Syracuse on April 10, 1904. On October 20, 1928, he married Golda Wolf. He was a retired electrician and a member of the New Hope Baptist Church, Wauchula. ‘ Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Patricia Stack, Syracuse, and Mrs. Robert (Gloria) Blanchette, Sarasota, Fla.; one son, William, Chicago and Syracuse; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. . iiil. IM ■. HHi TWO INJURED — Beatrice M. Eppert, 50, r 1 box 24 Syracuse, driver, and Nancy Swihart, 41, 123 W. Carroll St., Syracuse, a passenger in the Eppert vehicle, both suffered injuries in a two-vehicle accident Friday, Nov. 22, at 1:45 p.'m. at the intersection Os Brooklyn St., and Oak Street in Syracuse. Areena M. Gingerich, 45, r 4 box 105 Syracuse, driver of the second vehicle was not injured. » Beatrice Eppert, who was cited for disregarding a stop sign, was taken to Goshen Hospital with lacerations to her forehead and pain to her left arm, should and left ankle. Nancy Swihart suffered an abrasion to her leg but was not transported. Syracuse Police Chief Robert Ziller and Officer Joe Thornburg reported Areena Gingerich was traveling east on Brooklyn Street when the Eppert vehicle ran the stop sign and struck her 1978 Oldsmobile. The Eppert vehicle was traveling south on Oak Street at the time of the accident. After impact the Eppert vehicle continued east on Brooklyn Street striking a house at 120 Brooklyn Street. Damage to the 1985 Ford driven by Beatrice Eppert was listed at up to $2,500, with damage to the 1979 Oldsmobile listed up to $2,500. Police investigate accidents
Three accidents were reported to the Syracuse Police Department between 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, and 12:55 am. Wednesday, Nov. 20. A two-vehicle accident near the intersection of Pickwick and Access Road No. 13 caused up to S2OO damage to cars driven by Everado R. Ganz, 55, 126 North Shore Dr., Syracuse, and Dixie Fink, 35, 400 S. Maple St., Syracuse. The mishap occurred at 11:30 a.m. when Ganz was backing his 1976 Cadillac from a parked position and struck the right rear of the Fink vehicle, which was attempting to park on the opposite side of of the street. No arrests or injuries were reported. Damage To NIPSCO Pole A one-car accident at 12:20 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 19, caused up to S2OO damage to a pole owned by NIPSCO on Old Rd. 13A, 200 feet north of the CR 1250 N in- ' tersection. Kim L. Richardson, r 1 lot 540, Cromwell, was traveling south before approaching a railroad crossing and lost control of her car, which slid left of the center
and into the east side of a roadside ditch where it made contact with the pule. Up to $5,000 damage was estimated to the 1984 Renault driven by Richardson. The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department responded to the call and reported no injuries or arrests. Two-Vehicle Accident John A. Cannon, 21, 213 W. Portland St., Syracuse, and John D. Nemeth, 47, 701 Medusa St., » Syracuse, were involved in a twovehicle accident at the intersection of SR 13 and Main St. Police reported that the Cannon vehicle was traveling west when he disregarded a traffic signal at the intersection and collided with the northbound Nemeth vehicle. Damage was estimated to be up to SI,OOO to the 1981GMC truck driven by Nemeth. NIPSCO was reported to be the owner of the Vehicle. Up to SI,OOO damage was also reported for the Cannon vehicle, a 1975 Chevrolet Monza. Cannon was ticketed for disregarding an automatic signal.
