Girls swim team practice begins on August 12 Any girl attending Wawasee High school is invited to join the girls’ swim team, which will begin practice on August 12. Sessions will be from 9 a.m. tp 12. According to Coach Tim Caldwell, candidates must have a completed physical form before they begin practicing. Such forms can be picked up at the school’s front office.
ANOTHER HOLE-IN-ONE John Weis of Marion hit the second hole-in-one in as many days as he aced a hole on Monday, July 22, at Big Boulder Golf Course, Milford. Steve Eldridge aced the second hole at Big Boulder on Sunday, July 21.
Weis was using a pitching wedge when he got his hole-in-one. He shot the 9 holes in 31, proving his ace was no fluke. Like Eldridge, Weis received a trophy from new course owners John and Elaine Weiss.
L WB4 to meet August 5 Members of the Lakeland Women’s Bowling Association will meet Monday, Aug. 5, at 7:30 p.m., Wawasee Bowl, Syracuse, for their annual fall meeting. Rules for the annual local tournament will be voted on. Women’s International Bowling Congress rule changes will also be presented. Organizational meeting Aug. 5 The men’s Kosciusko County Bowling League will be having an annual organization Meeting for the 1985-1986 season at Wawasee Bowl, Syracuse, Monday, Aug. 5, at 7:30 p.m. All teams and interested bowlers are urged to attend.
