Bible Converence Week to be held at Winona Lake

After many years, the Winona Lake Bible Conference will be hosting its own Bible Conference Week. The week is specially designed for families, and throughout the week there will be programs for persons of all ages. Special guests for the week are the “Friends of Israel Ministry” with Marv Rosenthal, Wil Varner and Gary Cohen as principal speakers. Musicians include: the John Case Family, Saturday, 7:30 p.m. concert; the William Tyndale Singers, each evening, Sunday through Friday; the Calvary Seniors, Friday, Aug. 2,7:30 p.m. concert; and the Calvary Singers, Saturday, Aug. 3, 7:30 p.m. Each morning, a children’s program will feature the Miller to speak at Oakwood Rev. Fuhrman Miller, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, Goshen, will be giving the sermon Sunday, July 28. at the Oakwood park Morning Worship Service. The service will begin at 10 am., in the Oakwood Spiritual Life Center, Syracuse. Kevin Miller will serve as the '"'"worship leader and special music will be provided by John and Beth Beams. Kathy Geible will play the organ. A time of fellowship will follow the morning service and lunch will be served in Oakwood Hotel from 11:45 a m. , to 1 p.m. for those wishing to attend. Brethren Bible school planned Milford First Brethren Church has scheduled Saturday, July 27, as Bible school pre-registration day. A treasure hunt will be held on the church lawn at 10 a m. to make registering fun in order to pre-register as many interested children as possible prior to the first day of Bible school. The theme of Bible school this year will be “Discovering God’s Love on Sonrise Island.” All children from age 3 through sixth grade are invited to attend the school which will last from 9 to 11:30 a. m. from August 5 through 9. The closing program will be at the church on August 9 at 7 p.m.

Cindy Fisher is a sophomore at IUSB and also works full-time as an inspector at Goshen Die Cutting. She has just completed her tenth year as a 4-H member. Gospel sing to be held July 28

The 16th annual Gospel Sing will be held on Sunday, July 28, at 6 p.m., in the grandstand on the Kosciusko County Fair grounds. In case of rain, it will be held in Warsaw High School. The Tri-County Community Choir, under the direction of Alicia Evans of Sidney, will perform a selection of songs entitled “The Old Time Religion.” One member of that group, Jerry Rooney, will be soloist. Jo Hamell of Syracuse and Steve Warner of Oswego will each be performing a three-sqng solo package. Highlighting the evening will be the return of The Loves from Akron. The group has performed.

Pianist for the sing-along will be Jamie White of North Webster. The Gospel Sing is sponsored by the Burket United Methodist Church and the Kosciusko County Fair board. No admission fee is required, but a free will offering will be taken. For those unable to attend the Gospel Sing, portions of the performance will be broadcast over the radio.
