Surviving in addition to her husband are two sisters, Mrs. Donald (Anna) Logan, Mishawaka, and Christina Lehman, Warsaw; and two brothers, Chris and Albert Kammerer, both of Leesburg. Three brothers are deceased.
MOORE INFANT IS IMPROVING * Michael Vincent Moore, infant son of Michael and Cindi Moore, r 2 box 413 Syracuse, is reported as improving at South Bend Memorial Hospital. He was transferred to South Bend from Goshen Hospital on Thursday, July 11, where he remains in the infant intensive care unit. His father reported he may be able to come home Tuesday, July 23. BAUMGARTNER TRANSFERRED TO SOUTH BEND HOSPITAL Helen M. Baumgartner, P.O. Box 363 Milford, was transferred to South Bend Memorial Hospital on Monday, July 15, from Goshen Hospital where she had been hospitalized. JEANNE ERYMAN IN PARKVIEW HOSPITAL Jeanne Darlene Eryman, wife of Steve Eryman, r 7 box 6 Warsaw, underwent back surgery in the Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne this morning, July 17. No report has been received as to her condition. MERLE CAMPBELL IN CLEVELAND CLINIC Merle Campbell, Sr., P.O. Box 304, Milford, will be undergoing a seven-hour surgery today, July 17, in the Cleveland ’ Clinic in Ohio. Blood donations needed for Debbie Adkins Debbie (Bohnstedt) Adkins, 25, of Milford, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dick Bohnstedt of Milford, is in need of blood donations from area residents.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a m. Saturday, July 13, in Apostolic Christian Church, Milford, with ministers of the church officiating. Burial was in Milford Cemetery. Mishler Funeral Home, Milford, was in charge of arrangements. Amy Schacht Granddaughter Os Syracuse Woman Amy Schact, 16, 5007 El Capitan, San Antonio, Texas, died Tuesday, July 9, in Spahn Memorial Hospital, Corpus Cristi, Texas, of injuries suffered in a car accidenjt on July 7. She was the granddaughter of Mrs. Paul Lantz, Syracuse. She was born on January 2, 1969, to John and Judith Schacht in Huntington. Survivors include her father, John Schacht, Carlsbad, Calif.; her mother, Judith Schacht, San Antonio, Texas; one sister, Angela Schacht; and her grandmother. Funeral services were conducted Friday, July 12, at 11 am., in Sunset Funeral Home, San Antonio, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park.
Adkins, who was a passenger in a car driven by Franklin D. Hale of Warsaw, suffered injuries on Wednesday, July 3, when the car collided with another at the junction of US 23 and the Mountain parkway near Prestonburg, Ky. Having undergone surgery in one Kentucky hospital, Adkins was transferred to University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, where she remains. During here hospitalization, Adkins has used nine pints of blood and may be in need of more. Residents are asked to donate blood in her name when the Red Cross Bloodmobile visits Milford on Thursday, Aug. 1. The bloodmobile will, again, be stationed at the Apostolic Christian Church fellowship hall on SR 15. Blood may also be donated directly to the Central Kentucky Blood Center, 330 Waller Avenue, Lexington, Ky. The toll free number there is (800 ) 432-9528. Syracuse EMS Anita Costin, 59, 310 Congress, Fort Wayne, was brought to the fire station at 4:22 p.m. Saturday, July 13, after receiving a laceration to her finger. She was advised to go to Goshen Hospital for stitches. Neeksha Hughes, three, r 3 box 265 Syracuse, was brought to the fire station at 8:20 p.m. Saturday, when she suffered with a rash and welts over most of her body. The Emergency Medical Technician advised her parents to take her to Goshen Hospital Denise Lynn Richardson, 16, r 1 box 845 Cromwell, was brought to the fire station at 8:15 p.m. Sunday, July 14, after suffering a laceration to her foot. Walter R. Deatsman Retired Employee Os Zimmer, Inc. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 15, in Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, for Walter R. Deatsman, 70, r 2 Leesburg. He died at his home at 9; 15 am. Thursday, July 11. Death was caused by suicide. He was born on November 2, 1914, in Hicksville, Ohio, and spent more than 40 years in the Leesburg area. His parents were Forrest and Ruth (Poince) Deatsman. He married Helen Beatty on October 13, 1946. She survives. x Deatsman was a member of the Leesburg United Methodist Church, was retired from Zimmer, Inc., and was a member of the Masonic Lodge and Lions Club, both of Leesburg. Surviving are his wife, Helen; two sons, Max and Ross Deatsman, both mXLeesburg; one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Gene) Marshall, Leesburg; six grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Arthur (Kathryn) Krieg, Hicksville, Ohio, Esther Kinney, Warsaw, Mrs. Thomas (Mary) Madden, El Paso, Texas; and two brothers, Fredrick Deatsman, Long Pine,

Syracuse Emergency Medical Service was called to a car-train accident at 10:40 a.m. Monday, July 15, at the Noble CountyKosciusko County Line Road, east of the Poor Doll Bait Shop. Cheryl Lover and her children, Cindy, Chad, Michelle and Becky, all of 1759 Hopson Dr., Fort Wayne, were not injured and refused treatment. At 4:25 p.m. Monday, the EMS was called to EMS Lane T-4, south of North Webster, when Angie Summers, 13, 204 Avalon Lane, Chesterfield, was injured while skiing. She was removed from the water by friends before the EMS arrived. She was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital. The EMS was called to Smith Walbridge Camp at 8:59 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, when Sharon Williams, 20, twisted her knee. She was taken to Goshen Hospital. Births VEACH, Chad Richard Mr. and Mrs. Randy (Cindy) Veach, r 1 box 315 Milford, are the parents of a son, Chad Richard, born Monday, July 8, at 9:58 a.m., in a South Bend Hospital. He weighed six pounds, 15 ounces and measured 21 inches long. Chad has one brother, Corey, 24. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rink of Syracuse and paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Paul Sliter of Milford. Maternal greatgrandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Merril Rink of Milford and Devon Lippencott of Milford. Paternal great-grandmother is Ethel Veach of Elkhart.

Laßue Father Os Leesburg Woman Rew Jack Worth will officiate at the funeral services for Donald F. Laßue, 60, r 1 Silver Lake, formerly Etna Green, father of Mrs. James (Agnese) Burnau, Leesburg. He passed away of an apparent heart attack at 1:30 a.m. yesterday (Tuesday) at his home. He was born in Grant County on June 8,1925, the son of Amos and Zelpha (Wolfe) Laßue. He married Gloria Scheidt on June 18. 1945. She preceded him in death on January 16, 1966. Laßue retired as a machinist from Bendix Corporation in South Bend in 1978 after 30 years of service and had been a resident of Silver Lake since 1977. Also surviving are an additional daughter, Mrs. Drew (Judith) Ecklebarger, Goshen; two sons, Donald Wayne Laßue, serving with the US Navy in Guam, and Amos Joe Laßue, Silver Lake; 11 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Lawrence (Amy) Ulmer, Etna Green; and one brother John L. Laßue, Elizabethtown, Ky. Funeral services will be held at Deaton Funeral Home, Bourbon, at 11 a m. Friday. Burial will be Etna Green Cemetery. Calling at the funeral home will be Thursday from 2-9 p.m. and on Friday until the time of service. Verna Bunyan Mother of Former Milford Woman Verna Maude Bunyan, 93, mother of Ruth V. Neuhauser of Golden, Colo., formerly of Milford, died Friday, July 12. She was born January 10,1892, in Whitley County and had lived in South Bend for the past 33 years, moving there from North Manchester. On November 17, 1909, she married Charles H. Bunyan. He died in 1964. She was a member of the City Church of the Brethren and was active in the church’s organizations. Also surviving are a son, Charles Basil Bunyan of Dayton,

She weighed eight pounds, 124 ounces and measured 21 inches long. Denise Toinette has a sister, Annalisa, three. Earnhart, 76, r 2 Ligonier, mother of Harper Fred Peck, Lake Wawasee, Syracuse, died Wednesday afternoon, July 10, in her home. Mrs. Earnhart was born on July 11, 1909, in Pennsylvania and in 1951 in Albion married Oris Earnhart. He preceded her in death in 1978. She was a partner in Earnhart Welding. Additional survivors include three grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; one brother; Ben Kurtz; and one sister, Naomi Brown, both of Independence, Mo. One brother preceded her in death. Rev. David Maish, pastor of the Calvary United Methodist Church at Syracuse, officiated at the funeral services which were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 13, in Ulrey-Renner Funeral Home. Sandra Ball Captain's Place Employee Sandra G. Ball, 48, r 5 Syracuse, died at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, in Goshen Hospital, from cancer. She was born on February 13, 1937, in Marion to Lester and Joyce (Nash) McGriff. She had lived in the Syracuse community for 20 years and was employed at Captain’s Place, Syracuse.
