Little wins 3.3-mile race —

Tim Mylin wins eighth M-J Flotilla Run

By DAVE STRAUB Staff Writer Tim Mylin drove from Carmel to the Lakeland area to’ visit his parents for the weekend. He had just heard about Saturday’s Eighth Annual Mail-Journal Flotilla Road Race last Friday and figured to enter at the last minute. What Mylin didn’t figure was that he would easily win the eight-mile race with a record time of 41:02. “I didn’t even plan on running until last night,” said Mylin, who starred in track and crosscountry at Butler University. His strategy was simple, and it helped him shatter last year’s course mark set by David Bruce and John Roscoe, which was 41:29. “I just tried to stay with the leaders,” he said. “And at the four mile mark, I felt really good, so I started to pull away.”
